This draft is really interesting because I have no idea whether it's better to take a slow guy with 30 extra power points over one of the 705 guys with high-end speed (I chose the latter with my second pick).

same here. i was thinking rader wouldn't be available by the 4th pick, but when it came to me, i couldn't turn down raphael santana. man he's the worst

I'd have taken Rader 2nd overall. Surprised he fell to me. If you had taken Rader I'd have taken Santana though.

I feel like speed is probably more valuable in this league than a regular league. Normally, slow guys can get on base and score easily on a home run. With fewer homers, there will probably be more plays at the plate and so forth.

BeefMaster

I think you're probably right about that - the likelihood that the 730 power guy hits one out is still pretty low. Then again, I also got a 3-homer game from Steve Lombardozzi in the last World Series, so who knows.

I was sitting on Radar since he's my clear #1 for this draft, but then I have a strategy here to assemble a team who'll make a ton of X-outs. Those X-outs are what derailed Beef's team in the Super League World Series despite him having the most power in the history of a fantasy league.

The Empire's only goal is to dominate and that's what I plan on doing for this bizarro league - win lose the whole damn thing!

i think you're underestimating the blueberry kings' stellar defense & tim raines' rocket arm

Your attention to defense certainly paid off! Beef's team just took BP the whole time during practice while I noticed how you devoted a lot of practice time to situational fielding drills that put pressure on the defense and forced your defensive players to pre-pitch and make fast and sound decisions! Seriously though, your team was maybe the most balanced in just the right spots that I have ever seen.

super league was really fun. if we ran the sims again, it's entirely plausible two completely different teams would make the world series. league was stacked

What are the pitcher rules?

2 SP and 2RP?  Do you have to use starters in the first 2 spots?

The Raiders are a successful organization

BeefMaster

The Super League was anything goes for pitchers (I think I had three starters and a reliever on my roster), and I had been assuming the same for this league. Requiring starters would change my draft strategy a bit.

i think we go with super league roster guidelines:

- both NES and Arcade rosters are available for draft.
- drafting a player on both rosters gives the owner the rights to either one, but only one may be active at a time.

- starting lineups feature players at each individual infield position, but any 3 outfielders.

- pitching rosters include four players of any type (starter or reliever)
- the top slot may not be occupied by the same pitcher in consecutive games.

*new*
- bench players may be from any position except pitchers

darky has signed off on it, and since hes running the league, so this is what we're going with.

i'll update the first post with the rules

i added some free agent rules bc i think a free for all isn't always fair. hopefully it's not that confusing. i'll remove them if we think theyre dumb
