Actually, I stole that from a story I heard about the Pirates letting go of Ralph Kiner.  He couldn't believe it, since he was their best hitter.   They told him they didn't need him to finish in last place, and that they could do that without him.

There's nothing like drunken game commentary from Ralph Kiner.  He used to host a post-game show called "Kiner's Korner".  A few times he started the show off by slurring out "Welcome to Korner's Kiner".  He'd fuck up all the players names and go off on crazy tangents.  Funny stuff.
