Problem is, too many people reply to any thread.  I am guilty of it right now.  It is just the nature of a forum.

The only way to make this perfect would be if there is the capability of making 1 thread that would have 2 posts in it only (1. updated ROMs and 2. Standings/Stats).  Then not allow anyone else to reply to it.  The person that started it could just edit the original posts accordingly.
I do not think this is possible though.
