stuck on base...

hi,

so i'm new to this game and i'm loving it but there's one thing that really bugs me and i want ot know if i can stop it happening.

The computer will hit a ground ball just past second, and as my second baseman goes to get it he gets stuck on second base.Is there anything i can do???

My guess as to what's happening is that you actually aren't controlling your second baseman after the ball is hit.  Once contact is made, fielders will automatically cover a base, depending on the location of the hit - the first baseman or second baseman will cover first, the second baseman or shortstop will cover second, the third baseman or shortstop will cover third, and the catcher or pitcher will cover home.  You can't control a player that is covering a base - his only action will be to move to that base and wait for the ball.  If the ball is hit to the left of second base, your second baseman will be responsible for covering the base, so you'll have to field the ball with your shortstop.
