If it is, and Java's not installed, you should be seeing a "additional plugins required to display all the content on this page" notice. Also check the URL about:plugins and see if there's anything there to handle Java.

If nothing else, grab the latest install from here. (use the Windows Online Installation).

I'm waiting to hear if a handler was registered for Java, as shown in about:plugins. You should see something like 7 different sections titled "Java(TM) 2 Platform Standard Edition 5.0 Update 6" or something similar.
