Dawson went as the 1st pick for the 3rd time in a row.  Same with DaEvans going as #3.  This is the first time that Baylor has gone 6th (2005 - 8, 2006 - 9).  McGwire went 2nd for the second draft in a row as well as Jacksn going 4th.  Shooty(06) and now Alec took Mcgwire, and Ted took Reggie for his second draft in a row even though Jackson farted him last season until he was traded to the Dark Side.

I'm curious why Shooty and Alec took McGwire #2.  Is it his infield ability?

Shooty has a hard on for McGwire. McGwire played for him last year. He got off to a really slow start last year.

Baylor had a horrible year last year btw...and Reggie was traded twice last year lol

but McGwire taken second does puzzle me. According to my scouting report, we don't have him in the top five for hitting.

aaaaaand that was the highest tony armas has ever been picked.

16th - 06
10th - 05

also, do you have proxy picks for re-peat?  otherwise this could be a long wait.

no proxy pics from Re-Peat...damn! I just assumed that he'd be up with the early crew dee nee like he normally is...prolly is in school at the cafeteria or something.

Tony Armas was a good call. The dude fuckin lit it up last year for GDavis...especially against me in the world series.

So far... I'm happy with the players still left. I doubt Re-Peat will take the player that I desperately want.

What are the rules here?

Are we drafting 4 outfielders and 4 infielders? Or do we need a catcher?

Anyone know?

TβG

from darky's post:
- The draft will consist of 16 rounds. Your starting line-up must consist of 1 C, 4 IFs and 3 OFs. Your pitching staff must have 2 SP and 2 RP. You will have four additional bench players of any position.

we are NOT doing positions such as SS, 1B, RF etc.  Only IF/OF, C

i have my plans, but i'm not revealing which round it will begin.

Can you talk more about the pitching rule for this season?  if SP1 is not available to start for the next game, can we bring him in second or does he end up fourth on the list for pitchers in the ROM for that game?

Yes, we can bring him in second. I'm trying to protect the players arms this year and what league does a SP start in consecutive games?

And...

Mike D. has now suggested the Sally Cunts.

This team name will only be accepted if United is added. Sally Cunts United. Otherwise, you can forget it.

Was there a draft that Dawson didn't go first?  We've done more than three leagues... heck, I think I've lost three Fantasy World Series.

Yeah, I agree that Mac seems a bit overrated.  He's great, no question, but he hasn't been the fantasy star that the Hawk has.  I wonder if his bench presence on the original game artificially inflates his value (because he gets the big power boost his first time up)... I think the same thing tends to happen with Armas as well.

Baylor is solid... I've had him on my teams two or three times, and he's always done well for me.

i'm only tallying draft picks for fantasy RBI leagues, not including the arcade one.  and not the very first season (02-03??)...before my time.  the only breakdowns i don't have are for the first season i played (and won) i believe in 2004.  i did a lot of notes by hand that year on my excel printouts and so i'm not sure of all that info, or if i even have it anymore.

I think the first one you won was the original (beating me in the Series), so I don't think there was one that predated you.

For some reason I was thinking there had been more than three of these (not counting Stock's or the one that included arcade guys), but I could very easily be wrong about that.

i'm pretty sure there's one that pre-dates me.  natty gan would know.

i'm interested to how far owners will drop down for the top tier catchers and leadoff men (please don't name names).

from my data rankings:

top two leadoff-syle guys: drafters dropped an average of 20!! spots to pick them up.

top 4 catchers: owners dropped an average of 5-10 spots to acquire these rare commodities, according to my rankings.

Do you have some sort of ranking algorithm you're using, or are you ranking them by power ratings, or what?

my personal rankings are according to an algorithm.  with my analysis here i will note which system i'm using when i discuss player rankings versus just the power number from the ROM (aka raw power).
