hey turd, did you already consider pool play so that it doesn't matter how many or how few join the tourney??

TBH, what do you mean pool play. Do you mean round robin? That's what we did for Attezz vs. Turd.

Guido13

So if it's just you, Attez and myself... year one of online fantasy RBI league, that's fine... we can still play like an unbalanced 20 game sked so that future seasons with more teams can retain such a schedule.

I don't care how many guys we have for a league as long as we actually play the games. 4 would be nice.

Turd

Yeah, but the f ewer the guys, the more my terrible skills are exposed. I need on guy in there I can split a series with. :)

Attezz

I'm good to start on Sunday.

Turd, I'll go ahead and play left handed so you stand a chance.

:smiley face:

Turd

I wanna get bastardo setup first.

How much is there more to the setup process? I have the emulator downloaded and the rom.

Turd - are you watching the Bucks game tonight? Maybe we can plan to hop online for an RBI game at half time or something.

Turd

Sure we can try that later aftermy kids go to bed. Probably after 10 for me. I'll explIn the remaining stuff then. Dee-née chat?

Attezz

Milwaukee still has a basketball team?

Turd

Heh, yeah, game 6 of the playoffs. Crazy. Fear the deer.

Attezz

Uniforms and everything?

Turd

Yeah, and not those creepy ones like you see in Teen Wolf.  Real uniforms!

Turd

Bastardo, missed ya on Friday. I texted you, hope I got your number right...

Turd

I started messing around with numbers to see how you could apply a salary cap system to it.  I was thinking at least for batters...you assign it based on power (power = cost, so a 900 power guy costs $900).  With a $9550 salary cap, a team like the following would be possible...

No   Player   Power
1   Player X   900
2   Player X   825
3   Player X   825
4   Player X   800
5   Player X   800
6   Player X   780
7   Player X   742
8   Player X   765
9   Player X   780
10   Player X   785
11   Player X   775
12   Player X   770

Or you could opt to not get the 900 guy and spread it over your bench or remaining lineup if you saw fit.  Might make for some cool strategies...perhaps some system where your cap is based on your previous record...so shittier players get a chance to compete...

I was bored at lunch. That's what I did.

This is good, otherwise we could just go with the real life salaries of guys as well and have a payroll limit of $58,000,000 or something like that.

Turd

Yes. I like that too. Although that would mean having to code their salaries into my draft module. Otherwise, kind of a cool idea.

TβG

real life salaries don't really reflect the player's ability in RBI.  tom brookens is one example.  galarraga, who played well into the 2000's, would be horribly overpaid in "salary cap" rbi since he is so bad by comparison in the game.
Quote from: Nacho on 03/15/16, 10:17:08 AMWe've had babe drafts. We've had a sandwich draft. We can have our babes and eat sandwiches, too.

Turd

Pretty sure we'd use updated rosters, but you still have a point. It's easier to just assign it based on attributes. Well see.

Guido13

Yah I was thinking we'd go with updated roster pool and could apply the current salaries.

However if it's easier for Turd to make things clean and easy to keep track of let's go with power. Will there be a large enough difference?

Cool...got the draft module setup with the salary stuff...let me know what night works best for ya...maybe Wed or Thurs. for me...
