what a game!

It was! Bush delivered there in the last half. And he came in on through that OSmith trade. I'm actually surprised by this run we are having. I told the team they were shit in camp, so I guess they took it upon themselves to wear that Empire label with pride and to prove me wrong. Our starting pitching has been good and our bullpen has been superb. The bullpen is the reason why we have forced a second game in the final. Last season my bullpen KILLED me, as well as late inning hitting. This team here has guts! But you know, these are just random games and we certainly got a whole lotta luck against GDavis' team with double plays and errors all going our way. At least I know we can compete this year despite my screwed up draft. I also know we can lose in 1-2 innings this season.

Jack Clark is on a terror this tournament. He feels at home with the Empire and we've gotten back to basics with his swing. There's nothing wrong with him - he just didn't enjoy playing with Reds and Shooty, haha.

So the do-or-die and forced second game of the Championship will take place at midnight my time and 5pm Dee Nee time. The time is showing on my computer to ensure that no hand of god is happening. SPs #1 will be on the bump for this game. The Empire is 5-1 this tourney while the Creamy Pirates are 4-1. May the Force bless the Empire.

I call shenani-goats on the play at 3:50.  The outfielder had the ball well before the trailing runner was at third.  The CPU would never send the runner home there.

I went back and saw that. If you watch the runner and not the red dot on the basepath graph, he was rounding just before the OF picked up the ball although you can't really see the runner. I don't think the red dot on the basepath graph thing is exactly synchronized with the actual runner. Seemed normal to me and it happened so fast. Maybe play it in slomo to see that nothing shenani was going on there. hahaha, like I'm going to try and manipulate the game. Besides, why would anyone send the runner home when it looked like he was going to be safe by a mile. I was actually surprised he was out.

As a reminder since nobody probably read that long post. The Championship will take place at midnight my time and 5pm Dee Nee time. That's about in 7 minutes so I gotta set up shit here fast.

I'll also put the controller right under the screen and show my laptop which shows that I only have one controller with all ports occupied so to eliminate any suspicions to everything is answered before questions come up! haha, shooty is bitter since he went home early!

Game two and Winner-take-all of the Dee Nee Summer Classic Championship: Creamy Pirates (4-1) vs The Empire (5-1)

Congratulations to the Creamy Pirates! The Championship ended up being a yawner. Danny Cox pitched lights out in long relief as he crippled the Empire's batting lineup. Tommy Herr was very productive in the 8-hole as he prolonged a few rallies. The Empire was unable to keep up.

Co-MVPs: Danny Cox and Jefferey Leonard

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

I still question that play.  Makes no sense based on every game of RBI I've ever played.

I went back and looked at that in slow motion. You are right and I haven't seen that before either. I have no explanation and I can assure you that I wasn't sitting with a controller in my hand trying to get an edge ... and that's the honest truth. I would have to be an idiot to send him home since Herr (he was on first) looked like he was going to be safe by a mile - the better option would have been to keep Herr at 3rd to prevent the run if I were actually sitting there with the controller in my hand. There is no reason for me to sit and watch the games with a controller in my hand since accidents can happen doing that. Besides, the emulator speed was at 210, so any funny touches would look like something fishy was going on ... I think. I wouldn't know really since I don't fuck with the controller during watch even in my leisure time.

I believe in the previous game when my team played GDavis' team, there was a popup to second base with my runner on the base. The infielder caught the ball and then there was a mysterious double play. Not sure if my guy left the bag or something since it happened quick, but that was also a first and didn't make sense. I'll go back and look at that play.

The organ music, the claps, and the commentary are great!
What the he'll was that phantom double play?

Weird, very weird. Here it is in slow motion and I don't know what to say. Never seen it before and that was a first. I can't even tell what the runner did after the ball was caught. The ump just called it a double play. It starts at 4 minutes and 4 seconds in case that link doesn't go directly to point right before the popup phantom double play.
