Um, these "stupid guest posts that have been popping up lately," which have been "pointless" have all been mine.

I was reading some threads asking for the "return of shitpaw," but I guess that wasn't the overwhelming majority.

Here's why, with definition:

2a. Incongruity between what might be expected and what actually occurs: "Hyde noted the irony of Ireland's copying the nation she most hated" (Richard Kain).

While attempting to point out how guest posting is getting dumbed down, you actually made a grammatical mistake.  The phrase would have been better if stated as such: "more stupid".

Therefore, the irony exists in the fact that I would have expected a post attacking the intelligence of "guests" to have been grammatically correct.  That is the incongruity in this instance.  Better?

That said, "stupider" is a commonly accepted term. While English professors might frown upon it, it is not incorrect.
