Title: Official Fantasy RBI Postseason Thread
Post by: fightonusc on 09/04/07, 10:25:58 PM
It's The Poopydicks* vs. The Empire and GDavis* vs. Attarack in Best of 3 semifinals. Get me any changes to the rosters by tomorrow afternoon. Otherwise, we'll just use the ROM from the last week of the regular season.

Fighton, here is The Empire´s lineup for the post season.

.....the only change that I want to make is with Dykstra and Puckett. Dykstra will be hitting leadoff and Puckett will be demoted to the bench in Dykstra´s spot. A simple flip-flop.

The Empire will be playing heads up ball. We will win.

The Empire, GDavis Cruise to Game 1 Wins

DEE-NEE CITY - Gantry Division teams The Empire and GDavis both took commanding victories in Game 1 of the Fantasy RBI Divisional Playoffs on Tuesday night. The Empire shocked The Poopydicks 13-3 in six innings, while GDavis crushed Attarack 14-4 in four innings.

Don Mattingly went 4 for 4 with a home run for The Empire, who shelled Doyle Alexander for 11 hits over four innings. The Poopydicks also cost themselves with two errors that led to three unearned runs.

George Bell, Tony Armas and Jack Clark all went 4 for 4 for GDavis, who touched up Jack Morris for 18 hits in 3 2/3 innings.

There will be a decisive game three between GDavis and AttaRack.

Murphy-Clark-Downing-Speir have chosen a great time to swing it. Ojeda has found his groove and Donnie Baseball loves playing in primetime.

Our advanced scouts will be watching game three with a keen eye. We want GDavis or AttaRack. Nothing shall stand in our way. May the dynastic run begin for The Empire.

And to think that this team was totally shit when I took over. I took ryno's little paper airplane and made it into the colossal Super Star Destroyer Executor.

The Empire before as the Mexican Hermaphrodite Whores:

Good luck in game three. Shutting down GDavis two times in a row is gong to require a tremendous amount of luck or belief. Learn about the secret for some help for game three. If you do prevail, prepare to meet your tragic destiny.

Attez, good move btw by moving in Moore to the second spot in the pen and putting Ryan in the closing spot. Since then, your team has been better and more than likely saved your season. On paper, your team is boring, but they seem to find a way to get it done. I think they have responded well since you changed the lineup and pitching rotation since Rack left. Winning every week in the Fantasy league is not an easy task at all. It requires the guts to make necessary and prudent changes that may go against logic, and knowing the chemistry of your team. This league has to be one of the toughest in the world.

I despise GDavis' style of ball. He set his lineup according to power from top to bottom. A good fantasy team needs speed somewhere in the lineup....not just brute strength from top to bottom. His little strategy has succeeded and his lineup does have the most overall power, but his lack of team speed and contact power will catch up to him. Just like the shitty pitching caught up with the Poopydicks.

Attarack, GDavis Head for Game 3 Showdown; The Empire Awaits

DEE-NEE CITY - Will Clark homered twice and drove in seven to lead The Empire to a dramatic sweep of The Poopydicks with a 17-7, seven-inning victory in Game 2 of their Fantasy RBI Playoff series. The Empire awaits the winner of Attarack or GDavis after Attarack crushed GDavis 14-4 in eight innings.

"We are the Notre Dame of Fantasy RBI Baseball," said a dejected Poopydicks co-owner fknmclane after his team's defeat. "It's one thing to lose, it's another thing to get swept. But to that fucking lunatic? Christ on a crutch..."

Attarack evened their series with GDavis thanks to 6 2/3 innings of solid work by Jack Morris and a pair of home runs each by Tim Raines and Cal Ripken. Team manager Attezzobal refused comment after the game, ducking out of the post-game press conference to catch Australia versus Tonga in some sort of "rugby" match on TV.

Hey, I deserve some respect. I got my team to the finals and made some key trades. I deserve better press than a cheap shot.

Meanwhile, The Empire and our advanced scouts are flying to Tengen Field to observe game three. I'll take AttaRack +5 to pull off the upset. The Fantasy World Series will be truly international with The Empire facing off against AttaRack.

just be weary of dykstra. . . . he has suck potential.

Quote from: ryno on 03/28/07, 11:22:49 AM
If Dykstra sucks, as I'm almost certain he will, I'd think about putting Lindeman in the lineup --- he has power

Lindeman was quickly outplayed by Dykstra. Then Dykstra outplayed Pucket. Lindeman was traded for Pucket. Now I got quality pinch hitters in the 1-2 hole on the bench. If the world series comes down to the second pinch hitter, I think Puckett over Lindeman is a shrewed choice.

Nevertheless, you did draft really well. I had great players to work with and traded away the players who did not fit MY SYSTEM. Empire style ball baby......
and stay away from the premises......The Empire does not need a Cubs fan lurking around outside the fence of our headquarters.

I'll send you a picture of the trophy and parade after I win it all with my players.

In other news, Donny baseball is 9-9 in the playoffs. Speir and Will The Thrill (players that I traded for) are showtime at the right time baby. The Empire is feeling hung at the right time.

One last change fighton for game 2.....My counsel suggested Pena and Boggs flip flop. It's a good idea. Boggs has not done well this year against GDavis.

1. Murphy
2. Clark
3. Mattingly
4. Downing
5. Puckett
6. Speir
7. Pena
8. Boggs

Dykstra is demoted. Simple flip flop between him and Puckett.

Fuck. What part of a simple flip-flop do you not understand. Puckett was the second pinch hitter and I clearly stated that Dykstra would be demoted to the second pinch hitter....then Puckett takes Dykstra's position. I wanted Sandberg as the first pinch hitter. This is fuckin bullshit. Get your act together.

Here is my game three lineup. Read it twice so there are no mistakes. The Force already hit the commissioner for this blunder......see USC-Stanford recap.

1. Murphy
2. Puckett
3. Mattingly
4. Downing
5. Clark
6. Speir
7. Boggs
8. Pena

Bench:

Dykstra

GDavis Produces Stunning Rally, Takes 2-0 Series Lead on The Empire

DEE-NEE CITY - For seven innings, it looked like a certainty that The Empire would be evening up the Fantasy RBI World Series at one game apiece as the series shifted back to their "home turf". They held a five-run lead, and GDavis had shown little in the way of offense all game.

And then came the eighth inning.

GDavis scored an improbable 14 runs in one of the most dramatic rallies in Fantasy RBI history yesterday night at Tengen Stadium, leading to an amazing 21-12 victory to take a 2-0 series lead.

"I have just one thing to say about this game," said an elated GDavis after the game. "POOYAN!"

Anything that could go wrong in the eighth inning did for The Empire. Reliver Eric King simply fell apart, allowing 11 hits and 10 earned runs. And the defense was equaling bad, with two errors leading to two unearned runs.

Tony Armas had the rare feat of homering twice in the same inning in the eighth, part of GDavis' total of five in the inning. Armas also had a solo shot in the first inning and finished with six RBI.

One member of The Empire who could be held blameless was Dale Murphy, who hit three home runs (including an inside-the-parker).

The Empire Rallies, Stuns GDavis to Close Series Gap to 2-1

DEE-NEE CITY -  Blown leads, bullpen collapses, dramatic home runs...Game Three of the Fantasy RBI World Series had it all. But in the end, it was The Empire who had the last rally, with Will Clark hitting a three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to give his team a dramatic 18-17 victory over GDavis and to close the gap in the Best-of-Seven series to 2-1.

GDavis had a chance to take a commanding series lead after pulling off a comeback of their own, scoring five times in the top of the ninth to take a 17-14 lead. But closer Dave Righetti could not close the door, giving up four runs on four hits while recording just one out.

"Righetti, Manfredi, Spaghetti...I've had it uyp to here with Eye-Talians," said team namesake GDavis after the game. "This team sure as hell isn't eating pizza before the game anymore. It's bagels and lox from here on out. Oy Vey!"

GDavis Powers Past The Empire, Takes Commanding 3-1 Series Lead

DEE-NEE CITY - GDavis hit 10 home runs en route to a 21-12 victory over The Empire at Tengen Stadium to take a commanding 3-1 Fantasy RBI World Series lead. George Bell lead the way with three home runs and seven RBI, while Chet Lemon and Harry Spilman each hit two.

GDavis jumped out to an early lead with five home runs in the second inning on the back of three home runs, and never looked back. The Empire closed the gap to 8-7 after five innings, but GDavis scored 11 runs in the seventh and eighth inning to blow the game open.

Kirby Puckett homered twice for The Empire, while Chris Speier drove in four.

btw, what the fuck is up with Bell and Armas? wtf do those guys eat for breakfast. They are killin us. Fighton, did you boost GDavis' lineup. I demand that an independent party examines the world series rom. Word around campfire is that you give GDavis lineup a powerboost. 10 jacks? c'mon. GDavis is playing like a cooperstown rom team. then again my pitching has been running on empty and not locating at all.

Hey bro, that streak was snapped in game one of the world series. The Empire looked like shit in game one. I had to adjust the lineup for a fast break lineup. GDavis simply hits up and down. I am still wondering where all that power is coming from on his end. I mean, all of the sudden, dudes coming out of nowhere to drop bombs....and monster ones.

pm me a lineup so you can be the fall guy. Should Krukow get the start? I think our pitchers need to run more polls for increased endurance....and maybe grow a latin stache for more romantic and hung appearance.

When the Imperial Center and the galaxy saw the single largest military buildup in history and destroyed the Republic during the clone wars, The Empire had it's back to the wall. We prevailed by using a flawless strategy. We now face a similar and must win situation as we are on the brink of elimination to GDavis and his two clever Jedi Knights who are at the top of the order.

I hereby announce that Order 66 is in effect, a tengen-wide instruction for all clone troops to shut down G.Davis' Jedi commanders....G.Bell and T.Armas.

The time has come for The Empire to finally put an end to the rebel alliance. Moses and GDavis appear to have victory right at their hands. However, The Dark Side of the Force works in mysterious ways. Jedi are the guardians of peace in the galaxy, and they now face their imminent destiny of defeat.

During the Galactic Civil War, the Jedi were almost completely wiped out through the actions of followers of the Dark Side. Now The Empire shall finish the job when victory appears to be on the side of GDavis and his Jedi.

May the Force bless our Empire.

Following changes to take place immediately:

Krukow starts. Simple flip flop between Krukow and Ojeda.

1. Puckett
2. Speir
3. Murphy
4. Clark
5. Mattingly
6. Dykstra
7. Boggs
8. Pena

1. Sandberg
2. Downing

We would like to wear our imperial trooper uniforms. white and black babyee.

An Open Letter to the Empire:

This is my letter of resignation as manager of The Empire.  I understand what I was getting myself into, being a mercenary to manage a team in such a regime, but i feel like a scapegoat for the poor play of the empire.  What is worse, is as the pressure on the team to play better is getting stronger, my duties as manager have been sacrificed, as force from the front office has greatly increased.  Furthermore, I want no affiliation to The Empire and its actions from here on out.  As interim manager, I took responsibility for my role, but since being here, I have been subject to The Empire's "strange" practices.  Under my contract, I am not allowed to embark upon such practices, but, like I said before, I want nothing to do with them anymore.  I will not discuss the possibility of other jobs next season, at the moment.  As of now, I will be watching the Tengen Series as a spectator in the stands.  I expect that The Empire will understand and probably undermine my role, and I take that in stride. I hope the best of luck (or "force" [what a crazy bunch of fucks]) to both teams. Thank you.

Go JewDavis!

Bell just gaped us. 5 jacks and a granny. I demand drug testing for the entire team of GDavis. 23 jacks in two games? It's either the juice or maybe Moses suckin a mean dick to the hitters who were on deck. No wonder why they looked relaxed.

The Empire had a good run.

Congrats GDavis and moses. That was one hella good team. Maybe the best ever in RBI Fantasy history. G.Bell deserves mvp.

It's a hard pill to swallow and we will use the off season to regroup and study some numbers in order to rebuild the Empire.

SUPER BELL WINNER! SLUGGER CRACKS FIVE HRS, DRIVES IN 11 TO LEAD GDAVIS TO TITLE

DEE-NEE CITY - George Bell completed a remarkable postseason by hitting five home runs and driving in 11 to almost singlehandedly carry GDavis to the Fantasy RBI World Series title in a 22-11 Game 5 victory over The Empire at Tengen Stadium.

"Eleven RBI? Five home runs? Well blow me where the syphilis is," said Babe Ruth in a statement released from the Afterlife. "I'm a fucking pussy compared to this guy."

Over the five-game series, Bell was 23 for 27 (.852) with 11 HR and 24 RBI.

As was the pattern in the series, GDavis got off to a quick start and never trailed in the game, scoring five runs in the first inning on four home runs. The Empire closed a 9-1 deficit to a single run with a seven-run second inning, but would get no closer as GDavis would put up four unanswered runs and then blow the game open with seven runs in the ninth.
