Title: FRBI VI Divisional Playoffs
Post by: Darky on 06/02/10, 01:51:39 PM
Best of 7.

The Poopydicks have elected to have home field advantage.

Ryno, do you want home or away field advantage?

Also, you all need to tell me who is starting on the bump for game one and the order of your RP's. If you have any lineup changes, you know the drill.

As soon as this info is complete, we'll start. If more than one day goes by, I'll just assume the opening day pitching rotation and the RP order you had in the last game played---same for the lineups.

Dove RBI Division

Banana Hammocks 9-13, (5-7) @ Poopydicks 12-10, (7-5)

Gantry Division

Fighting Ulrachers 12-10, (7-5) vs Pabst Blue Ribbons 12-10, (8-4)

Banana Hammocks unable to keep up with Poopydicks

Phoenix (AP) - The Poopydicks got great pitching and a huge performance from W.McGee to capture game one of the Dove RBI Divisional playoffs.

W.McGee hit 2 homeruns from the leadoff spot and collected 4 hits and 3 RBI to jumpstart the offense. Canseco had a productive day as he hit a mammoth shot and drove in 3 runners as well as crossing plate 3 times, and R.Sandberg had a pinch hit double and drove in 2 runners. Bid Daddy pitched brilliantly in long relief. Reushl only allowed 3 earned runs off 10 hits in 5 innings of long relief as he picked up the win.

The Banana Hammocks hit into 3 double plays and had a runner thrown at on a first to third situation. Those rally killers very well contributed to their defeat. The lack of team speed has been an achillies heel for the Hammocks all year.

Fighting Ulrachers mercy rule Blue Ribbons in six

Arkansas (AP) - With Doc Gooden on the mound, the Fighting Ulrachers seemed confident and relaxed with some swagger before the start of game one of the Gantry Divisional playoffs.

The Ulrachers jumped all over Sutton and Blyvn as they pounded the Blue Ribbon pitching staff for 19 runs in six innings and went on to an easy game 1 mercy rule victory.

D.Evans blasted 3 shots and Guerro hit a pair of homeruns to lead the Ulracher offense. The two players combined to go 9-9 with 12 RBI and 8 runs scored. On the bump, Gooden was back in his dominant playoff form as he pitched all 6 innings and only allowed 6 runs off 9 hits.

It was pretty bad. Lots of new wavers in that division. RePeat/Barton are not that experienced, and RePeat's little draft strategy backfired on him. TBT's vision of having a speedy team didn't work out---and having N.Ryan on your staff...plus it was his real first year in the league---from the draft to the last game. Then there was Turd---rookie. He made the playoffs, but his team scares nobody. I think his team had the most outs on the basepaths and is either one or two in double plays hit into---along with the OC.
The Poopydicks were decent. McLane and Gantry have a little experience, but their organization is no match for the resources and winning standards that the Empire has.

Game 2 will begin at 4:01 dee nee time---11 pm Svensk tid. Both will be televised.

Fighting Ulrachers annihilate Blue Ribbons, take commanding 2-0 lead

Arkansas (AP) - The Fighting Ulrachers jumped out to a 7-0 lead and poured it on down the stretch as they won 22-11 in dominating fashion.

DaEvans continues to torment the Blue Ribbon pitching staff. DaEvans went 5-6 with two home runs and 4 RBI. DaEvans is 10-11 with 5 home runs and 10 RBI in the series so far. Also swinging a hot bat is Guerro. The lead off hitter is 9-10 with 4 doubles, 3 home runs, and 10 RBI so far in the two games. The Ulracher offense has stepped it up in the playoffs so far and have shown their early season form.

Many observers are not counting the Blue Ribbons out since they have shown the ability to respond all year when their backs were to the wall.

The series will move over to Chicago at Soldier Field for game 3.

Poopydicks too much for Banana Hammocks, cruise to game 2 victory

Phoenix (AP) - The Poopydicks responded to a 4th inning 7-5 deficit by scoring 6 runs in the 4th and added another 2 runs in the 5th to go up 13-7. The Poopydicks then went into cruise control and it was enough to take a 2-0 series lead over the first year Hammocks.

The majority of the scoring was done in the first 5 innings, both bullpens did their jobs on a hot blistery day at the Turd Bowl in Phoenix. Krukow allowed only 3 runs in 4.33 innings pitched, and picked up the win as well as striking out a couple of hitters in key situations.

W.Joyner and K.Gibson both hit a pair of shots and Canseco added one himself to lead the Poopydick offense.  Also, Gagne went 4-5 with 2 RBI's from the eight hole and W.McGee continues to swing the hot bat as he smacked 3 doubles.

The series will move over to Milwaukee for game 3. Many observers don't expect the Hammocks to put up much of a fight since they appear to be happy just making the playoffs.

Fighting Ulrachers mercy rule Pabst Blue Ribbons, take commanding 3-0 series lead

Chicago (AP) - The Fighting Ulrachers continue their post season domination over the Blue Ribbons as they quickly mercy ruled them 15-5 to take game three and a 3-0 series lead.

The top of the lineup for the Ulrachers continue to produce with their hot bats and have been a huge difference so far in the series. The Ulrachers have outscored the Blue Ribbons 56-22 in the three games so far, a surprise to many observers. The Ulrachers are on the verge of sweeping the Blue Ribbons and appear to have the post-season Look.

The usually solid pitching for the Pabst Blue Ribbons has disappeared in the post season. The heart of the team will need to regain their season form if they are to overcome a 0-3 series deficit.

Banana Hammocks bounce back, mercy rule Poopydicks

Milwaukee (AP) - A.Dawson's huge day inspired the Banana Hammocks to a game three mercy rule victory in six innings.

A.Dawson went 4-4 with two gargantuan shots and 5 RBI to help lead the way. Also, R.Clemens, went 2-2 with a triple and 2 RBI from the 9-hole as he sustained rallies. The Banana Hammocks outhit the visiting Poopydicks 21-9. Tudor and Clemens pitched effectively as they limited the Poopydicks.

Back at home, the Banana Hammocks played inspired baseball in front of their energetic home crowd and will need another similar effort at home to defeat the favorites Poopydicks.

Pabst Blue Ribbons avoid sweep

Chicago (AP) - On the verge of being swept and with their backs to the wall, the Pabst Blue Ribbons responded in Blue Ribbon fashion by defeating the Ulrachers 22-19 at Soldier Field.

K.Hrbek led the way by going a perfect 6-6 at the plate with a HR an 3 doubles. He drove in 4 runners as well. Baylor and Lemon also were torching the ball as they combined to go 10-12 at the plate and combined for 8 runs. The no name offense finally woke up when they were needed most, as has been the case all year. The Blue Ribbons hit 7 homeruns as a team.

With the Ulrachers holding a slim 13-12 lead in the top of the 8th, the Blue Ribbons went on a 10-6 run in the final two innings to get their first win of the series.

Poopydicks cruise to victory, take 3-1 series lead

Milwaukee (AP) - Like a cat torturing a mouse on the cusp of death but not killing it, so are the Poopydicks doing to the Banana Hammocks. The Poopydicks had an easy time as they defeated the Hammocks 16-9 and now are one game away from moving on to the Dove RBI LCS.

R.Reushl went the distance as he limited the Hammocks to only 9 runs and K.Gibson led the way on offense with two HR's and 4 RBI.

The Poopydicks jumped out to a 11-2 lead after three innings and went on cruise control from there, seemingly doing enough or not enough to allow the Hammocks and the game to go the full nine innings.

The Hammocks will need a huge effort from Tudor and their offense tonight if they wish to stay alive. The Hammocks have looked outmatched and outhustled in the series so far.

Pabst Blue Ribbons mercy rule Fighting Ulrachers, gain momentum

Chicago (AP) - Don Baylor had an epic night and carried the Blue Ribbons to a 16-4 mercy rue victory in 7 innings to tighten up the series at 3-2.

D.Baylor's incredible performance featured 3 HR's, 5 hits in 5 at-bats, 8 RBI, and 4 runs scored. He was hitting pitcher's pitches and his pitches---basically anything near the strike zone. The Blue Ribbons got great pitching as well. Sutton and Bylven combined to only give up 4 runs in 7 innings. With their backs to the wall, the Pabst Blue Ribbons seem to be playing inspired baseball as they have done all year when the odds were stacked against them.

The Ulrachers appeared flat in front of a very angry crowd at Soldier Field. Mike Martz threw out the first pitch and garnered the biggest cheers of the day.

The series will move back to Arkansas at Razorback Stadium tonight for game 6.

Banana Hammocks stay alive, cruise to game 5 victory

Milwaukee (AP) - Stinky Sullivan and D.Hendrsn each hit a pair of shots while R.Clemens pitched extremely well in long relief to lead the Hammocks to a 17-13 game 5 victory.

Counted out by advanced scouts and the media, the Banana Hammocks used that as motivation as they came out and played sound baseball in front of their boisterous crowd of 85,000+ at home. For one game, the Banana Hammocks had the 'Look' and got great hitting, good pitching, and managed to not hit into their usual 2-3 double plays a game---and getting thrown out on the bases 3-4 times a game. The lack of speed was compensated by sound and inspired baseball.

The series will move back to the Turd Bowl in Phoenix for game 6.

Phoenix (AP) - On a scorching day at the Turd Bowl in Phoenix, the visiting Banana Hammocks were hotter than the Arizona sun as they torched the Poopydicks 22-8 in 5 quick innings and thus forcing an epic game 7.

Stinky Sullivan has become the Mark Lemke of the divisional playoffs. The 8-hole hitter continued to swing the hot bat as he went 4-4 with 2 doubles, a homerun, and drove in 5 runners.
The game was broke wide open in the top of the second inning as Garner belted a grand slam that left the Poopydicks in a state of shock.

The Banana Hammocks put the game away in the 5th inning. Krukow came in to relieve Reushl, and things only got worse. Krukow was pounded for 10 runs off 11 hits in one inning and after all was said and done, the score stood at 22-8. The Hammocks outhit the Poopydicks 26-13 and for another game, the Banana Hammocks appear to have 'The Look'.

The deciding game seven will take place tonight at the same batplace and same battime.

Poopydicks 15-13
Banana Hammocks 12-16

Series tied at 3

Pabst Blue Ribbons pound Ulrachers, force game seven

Arkansas (AP) - The no name offense exploded for 21 hits and 17 runs in five innings as the Pabst Blue Ribbons have come all the way back from a 0-3 series deficit to force a deciding do-or-die game seven.

The Blue Ribbons got power from an unlikely hitter. Burlsn hit a pair of shots and knocked in 5 runners on the day. His last at-bat was a walk-off mercy rule grand slam to end the game at 17-4.

The Blue Ribbons have now outscored the Ulrachers 33-8 in the last two games and have all the momentum going into the epic game seven of the Gantry divisional playoffs. With the odds heavily stacked against them, the Blue Ribbons may have had the Ulrachers right where they wanted them. Once again, when it appeared the Blue Ribbons were done, they scrapped a way to overcome the odds stacked against them. No team in the FRBI playoffs has ever came back to win a series after being down 0 games to 3.

Tonight will be the deciding game at Razorback Stadium.

Pabst Blue Ribbons 15-13
Fighting Ulrachers 15-13

Series tied at 3

Recaps to come at some point this weekend. Game 1 of the LCS should go on Sunday night or Monday night.

And Turd...I wish you luck going up against the mighty Empire. You basically have no chance. Your team lacks balance compared to the Empire's superiority. I'm not saying this to be cocky, it's the truth. My lineup is structured on efficiency and above average speed, and my pitching is well balanced---and we have the best bullpen in the league. Your fatal destiny awaits you, nothing personal rook....

Fighting Ulrachers regroup, pull away from Blue Ribbons to advance to the Gantry LCS

Arkansas (AP) - Down 7-6 in the top of the 5th inning, the Ulrachers found that extra gear to propel them into the Gantry LCS. J.Cruz came off the bench to deliver a 2-run double to give the Ulrachers a 9-7 lead, and the Ulrachers rallied for 8 runs in the top of the 9th to put away the Blue Ribbons 23-11.

The Ulrachers got good pitching as the pitching staff combined to keep the Blue Ribbons at a distance after the Ulrachers took the lead. The Blue Ribbons only managed 5 runs after the second inning.

Hendrk went 6-6 with a pair of doubles, 1 HR, and 4 RBI to lead the offense, and C.Mldndo went 6-7 while drilling 3 doubles and contributed with 3 RBI. A key difference in the game was the hitting of the Ulracher pitchers. They combined to go 4-5 with 3 RBI from the 9-hole while J.Cruz contributed with a 2-run double off the bench in the 9-hole---making that 5-6 with 5 RBI total.

Despite the loss, the Pabst Blue Ribbons showed a lot of pride by almost pulling the series victory after being down 0-3. They just came up short to a better team in the end.

P.Guerro was named the series MVP. Guerro was the sparkplug for the Ulrachers at the leadoff spot in all of their wins. The slugger hit .617 (21-34) with 18 RBI, 15 Runs, 9 doubles, and 5 home runs in the series.

The Ulrachers will now travel to the central coast of California to take on the Gantry Division champion OC Legions of Doom. The Ulrachers won the season series 2-1 and many observers are expecting the series to go 7 games.

Whoa, it actually did. Just realized it took 2 weeks to finish this up. The LCS will take one week.

Banana Hammocks overcome 3-1 series deficit to shock Poopydicks, Stinky Sullivan named series MVP

Phoenix (AP) - Down 10-7 in the top of the sixth inning, the Banana Hammocks roared back to tie up game seven 10-10. With two outs and Hndrsn and Grich on second and third, Stinky Sullivan hit a clutch double down the RF line to score both runners and give the Hammocks the lead for good as the Hammocks went on to capture game seven 20-15 and earning a date with the defending FRBI champion Galactic Empire.

The Poopydicks scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning to reduce the deficit 15-13, but the Banana Hammocks scored 5 runs in the inning for some added insurance to make it 20-13. The Poopydicks desperate comeback attempt in the bottom of the 9th came up short as they only scored two runs. McGee grounded out to end the game and the season for the Poopydicks and the Banana Hammocks stormed the infield to celebrate in the baking sun at the Turd Bowl in Phoenix.

Stinky Sullivan's inspiring performance in game 5 (2 HR's) was the leadership the Banana Hammocks have been looking for all year. Down 3-1 in the series, Sullivan became the Mark Lemke of the divisional playoffs as he hit .600 (9-15), scored 6 runs, knocked in 12 runners, hit 4 doubles, and hit 3 home runs in the last three games. His heroic efforts when the odds were against the Hammocks earned him the MVP of the Dove RBI Divisional series.

Now the Banana Hammocks have a much tougher challenge awaiting them---going up against the mighty Galactic Empire with their losing record. The Empire won the season series 2-1, and are the two time defending Dove RBI League champions as well as the owners of the best record in the league in the last two seasons. The Hammocks will need another gutsy performance from Sullivan and play over their heads to dethrone the heavily favored Galactic Empire.

Banana Hammocks 13-16
Poopydicks 15-14

Banana Hammocks win the series 4-3
