Burnzky

Im sure this has happened to some of u guys before.  Anyways i was playing rbi the other day, and i was trying bban's method of making a glitch happen.  I subbed on the first batter and after there was no pitcher.  Every couple seconds it would say ball and whatever mph the pitcher was throwing.  He didn't throw one strike.  I let him walk me three times in a row throwing 12 balls straight before decided to steal.  When i stole the pitcher appeared to be standing in his normal spot.  When the batting screen came back on, every thing was back to normal.  Just wanted to hear your guy's comments.

I gotta try bban's technique, sounds like RBI on hallucinogens...

Congrats on thread #100 Burnzky...

Wow Burnzky, never seen that one yet, nice job on the 100th, I definately think bbans theory works, everytime we hit start soon enough, the pitcher appears in some weird place.

I did it!!!!

I just got my first mini-pitcher/Strass glitch ever.  bban's technique was the key - it took me 6 innings to time the pause to show up before the pitcher appeared.  Actually, I got it to work in the 4th but they subbed the pitcher right after I subbed my hitter and he only appeared in the wrong place for a second.  I now have Cox pitching from 3rd base and nobody on the mound.  Going to take a pic and put it up shortly...

Here's my pic, going to unpause and try to hit the bastard:

i am going to give that one a try...   i know it has happend before and bban's philosophy makes perfect sense.  hitting pause must scramble the circuits.

As an update, the pitcher could do nothing from that position.  All his pitches were by the player stats and therefore balls.  Had to attempt a steal to get the pitch back to the correct spot.  Neat trick though, I wonder in how many different places the pitcher can appear...

Gantry, did the pitcher eventually move back to the center? That happened to me every time except when there was no pictcher and i had to steal to correct it.

I just managed to get the glitch on my game. He was on both bottom corners of the screen, but then he moved halfway across the screen to right under the catcher.
I am leaving it play in the background, and right now i'm winning 26-0 without even taking the bat off my shoulder.  :)

I've just tried it in 1-p, 2-p, and Watch mode, but the pitcher always ends up in the same spot. Does anyone know what determines the location of the pitcher?
From what I see, it depends on the inning.

ive seen that glitch where the pitcher is standing directly in front of the plate firing fastballs... the hitter has no chance.

Hey Gantry, how come you were down 3-1 to the Astros in the 6th.  Just playing!

no i think he was playing someone else because if you notice, dthon is batting fourth.  the computer only subs for pitchers and weak 8-hole hitters.

Yeah, I was Houston and was winning 3-1 over the dreaded computer.  When you do this technique, you sub for the batter to get the pitcher to move, hence Thon in the 4 spot....

Regarding the pitcher throwing from 3rd base - it seem like he was gradually inching closer to the mound, but it was very slight.  If he was moving, it would have taken a long time to get there...

I think it is the duty of everyone with a digital cam to take a snapshot of the pitcher glitch.  Perhaps we can document all the possible positions of the pitcher and make a gallery out of it...

I dont have my digital camera on hand, but I did just get done taking a snapshot of the pitcher glitch, had the pitcher throwing from second base. It was great, I tried a slider to see how far it went. Of course I had Morris pitching, so not much movement there, but still cool.

i had the glitch last night and valenzuela was throwing from the score on the left side of the screen...  needless to say, he wasnt throwing strikes.

heres a weird one for you... i know we have all seen throws from the outfield miss the base but how about a fielder running right past the base without stepping on it.  here's the situation...  nobody on, two outs, mike schmidt hits a hard ground ball to billy doran.  doran fields it cleanly and chose not to risk a throw.  instead, he would beat schmidt to the bag on foot.  unfortunately, doran missed the bag and was headed for the dugout.  galarraga grounded out on the next pitch so it did not factor in... but i was odd nonetheless.

Stuart has done that before.  And it might have been Bill Doran.  He just ran right over the base and and missed the bag.  But he kept running to the dugout as if there were 3 outs.

after doing some research, i found there is a glossery term pines coined for this occurance... the forrest gump... i would say that fits.  for his, i think the fielder ran past second towards the outfield... i guess it can happen at first as well.
