Big Apple RBI Champ

Who am I?

I made a great catch for the New York Yankees jumping over the wall to rob a home run.  The side road that runs alongside the Stadium is my first name.  I am one of the better hitters in RBI.

At one point, I couldn't imagine Dee Nee being more exciting than this . . .

My assumption is that Ruppert is correct, anyone know for certain, I guess we could look at a map and check the street names.

Ruppert only played one year with the Yanks (1980) so if he did, he sure made an impact...

Well all he had to do was make one catch, the road could be named Ruppert Dr. after someone else.

When I first read the question I was also assuming the road was named after the player, but no road is named after a players first name and the only Yankee in RBI good enough to have a road name after him would be Mattingly, and Don Rd. just sounds funny.

Agreed, but it would be more likely to be someone else given that he only played 83 games for the Yanks.  People are assuming it's Ruppert by a guest's answer that was never verified.  Just wondering if that was correct...

If it's not going to be named after their first name, why would they use Don Road?  How about Sideburns Drive?

I tried to look at maps around Yankee stadium but while Google Local seemed to be a really nice tool, it didn't show me what I'm guessing are little phantom roads around the stadium that probably lead to parking or whatnot.
