Story

According to Clark, the Mets-Cards rivalry was fairly contentious in the mid-80s, to the point that they'd intentionally snub each other at the All-Star Game.  Also, Gary Carter was an attention whore, and Howard Johnson corked his bats (possible Hall of Shame entry).

Sounds like a bit of an attention whore himself...

I don't like Jack Clark and I hate the Mets so I'm torn on this issue

I always loved Jack Clark.   Arkansas is about 99% Cardinal fans, so I've never been one to hate the Cardinals.. .  . . .loved watching Jack Clark in 1987.

I do hate the mets.

I liked the mid-80 Cardinals (at least I didn't hate them, hated the Mets).  But was never a fan of Clark.

Why the hell are there so many Cardinal fan in Arkansas?

Because for MLB considers it part of the St Louis market so they always get their games.

Umm... what other market would Arkansas be a part of?  Atlanta?  Houston?  Cincy?  KC?  St. Louis is the closest team, and since the 2nd closest team sucks giant donkeyballs every year (sorry Bonny) it seems like a fair and obvious choice to me.

anyone ever notice that if you drop a deuce on someones windshield in sub-freezing temperatures, its pretty damn hard to get off once it freezes.

KMOX was broadcast all over Arkansas --- that's a big reason why.

Also, for decades, our AA Team (Arkansas Travelers) were tied to the Cardinals.

The nearest team is the Rangers, but since they came in long after the Cardinals had established themselves with the radio broadcasts and AA team --- the Rangers just never caught on.

There are a few Astro fans here or there, but nothing as addictive as the Cardinals.
