Much to my chagrin, whenever vince coleman reaches first base, it seems nearly impossible to throw him out.  You can keep checking him at first, but you can't throw him out that way either.  Is there any secret to it?  Or do I have to just cut my losses and accept that a Vince Coleman single is the same thing as a double?

try pushing down with your catcher and pressing a quickly... you will find that will cut down the speedy cokehead.

it wont work all the time but if you keep him close you will have some luck... as for everyone else,  they will be toast.

here's one of my best kept secrets.  hit down a.  in effect you are throwing to the catcher.  the ball will roll to second, coleman won't slide and he will be called out.  you really have to be quick about it, and of course get your pitcher out of the way.  let me know how that works for you.

if you can master this, then no one can steal on you.

It's not that well-kept of a secret, as anyone who read my FAQ would know this already:

There are so many questions asked on here that are in the FAQ, I'm starting to think nobody reads it...

i also find that if you hit A button and 2B simultaneously, you can cut Vince Cokeman down in his tracks.

i dont know about pushing a and up but i know pushing a and down works...   coleman is just about the fastest guy in the game (raines) but he is no match for the roll as  i call it.
