I know the short answer to this: A ball that's just barely within the fielder's reach. But is there any definition of what makes it occur, as opposed to a normal catch or a near miss? I got interested in this when reading the code explanation of BOPs and quick throws, but I couldn't figure a damn thing out about this on my own, as I am not a code genius... but there has to be a defining line somewhere.

Has it been figured out whether there's a definite sequence for the Travolta (or the Spongebob, for that matter)?

Is the Travolta the same as the Spongebob?

HELL NO...the spongebob is when you fucking lamely fall to the earth...it's very dramatic.  However, the player stays vertical for the Travolta.

Then what is the Travolta?  It's not in the glossary.   ::)

It's under Strike a Pose:

Strike a Pose! - A fielding play that results in the defender having to reach for the ball in order to catch it/pick it up. He looks quite goofy while doing so and probably was the impetus for modern day baseball game's use of sliding and jumping defenders. Also called the Travolta.
