New Publicity for Oquendo, Thon?

i came across some info today... espn 2 will have a special on getting jose oquendo into the hall of fame today http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/tvlistings/index  it's called utilityman.  and i found a dickie thon website (don't know if it's been listed here before www.dickiethon.com)

Indeed the Thon site is quality.  Their Wall of Shame is hilarious.  It's definitely worth checking out the whole thing but here's a couple RBI related entries:

Al Pedrique - In 1987 he was the Pirates shortstop of the future. well, there was no time like the present for the .301 hitting Pedrique, because he bowed out with the Tigers in '89. .247.

Charley Kerfeld - His career numbers with Houston (15-8, 3.95) are as misleading as you can get. He collapsed after an 11-2 '86 season. Later became the League's largest mop-up man in Atlanta. Was known to psyche out opposing hitters by spitting tobacco juice on himself. Once had 37 boxes of Orange Jell-O written into his contract. 18-9, 4.20.

The Ashby Masquerade
(Mark Bailey, George Bjorkman, Alan Knicely, John Mizerock, Luis Pujols, Ronn Reynolds & Robbie Wine) - [masquerade: (n) a gathering of persons wearing masks; (v) to disguise oneself. The aforementioned clan was lucky to hide behind masks. About the time that Alan Ashby hit 30, the Astros were waiting for him to fall apart but they kept gluing Ashby back together again because all their alternatives hit a combined .204. Pujols hit. 131 as the primary starter in'78, prompting the acquisition of Ashby, and the torpid trend continued all the way to Wine's six hits spread over two dozen games in the late '80s. It took a future all-star second baseman to finally put Ashby's bad back and disfigured fingers on the bench in '89.

Maybe I'm dense, but is that utilityman show really about Oquendo?

And Kerfeld's Jell-O clause has added yet another member to the Hall of Shame.  We really need to get every RBI'er on that list...

So I thought the utilityman thing was a joke too, but I caught the last 10 minutes and it was about Oquendo. I loved what I saw, I'm going to try to tape it if it's on again. Anyone with info - I'd be forever indebted to them for it.
Can I formally petition for him to be known as "The Weapon?"
I know I've brought it up before, but now that he's been on ESPN, maybe there will be more support? What do you think guys, yay or nay?

I guess they officially call him the secret weapon, but i prefer the weapon, since everyone who plays against him in RBI knows that he'll go yard against you, it's no secret.

I TIVO'ed it and will be watching tonight or tomorrow, can't believe there really is an effort to get Jose Oquendo into the HOF...

I caught the end of it and it was pretty funny.  It's just these two guys going all over the country doing crazy shit and sure enough, the entire show is devoted to Oquendo.

I also saw the last half of the show and it was done to perfection.  They succeeded in getting their home-made plaque on the utility closet door.  The two guys also host a show called "cheap seats" on espn2 at odd times when nothing better is on.  Jose Oquendo has always been a thorn in my side while facing him in late inning situations.
