Last night I took it upon myself to actually sit and play every frickin team.  Although I was filled with pride for actually sitting through the boredom of playing the comp, I was let down by the final screen, but the song was nice.  Actually, houston gave me the most trouble with their pitching....  also, I was ahead 12-6 in the top of the 7th, and I wanted to pitch a complete game with frank viola... he gave up a homer so I put in juan senior smoke berenguer.  Talk about choke... he gave up 7 runs and 4 homers.... luckily I was able to score 3 runs in the top of the ninth to save the game.....

WoW.  I don't think you should be giving up 13 runs in a game against the computer (whether by straight pitch or curve pitch), but anyway that's sort of understandable trying to finish a complete game and going the full nine....

I recently played the whole "RBI Series" conquering all 9 teams (with only one starting pitcher) in 2-5 innings max with straight shutouts.  It was pretty exciting since I haven't played the series in well over 3 years.  I agree with your comment about the final song being nice.  Definitely awesome to hear (esp. when you consider the fact that there are only 5 different songs aka "melodies" in RBI, including the anthem and homer melody).  I found the "group tossing animation" to be fun though, as I was getting a little sick of the "hands in the air animation."

Well, since I haven't been playing any RBI lately, I decided to sit down and beat all the teams.  I must say, it wasn't much fun at all.  The CPU was terrible and it's pretty much a hit if you keep it on the ground.  Anyway, here is the ending screen:

Only two difference are your final record and the image on the right of your teammates throwing you in the air.  Of course I picked the only team that blends in with the background, sorry about that.  I'm sure you've all seen it before anyway...

So if I beat all the teams, I'm the guy that gets thrown in the air?  Huh . . . I always thought I was the third guy on the left.  After all these years, I was the wrong guy.

BTW Gantry, great numbers in that game.    .764 BA and 2.029 SLG

You think anyone can get that final sound clip into a .wav file??
I hope he rests in peace, the trouble is the fellow owes me forty bucks"

i can tell ganty was getting bored there at the end... giving up runs to the computer...that can only happen after nine games.

as for actually sitting down and playing that many games against the cpu... i dont have the patience.

When I play against the CPU, I just give them BP fastballs right down Broadway.  The most runs I ever gave up was 11 to Boston on 11 solo homeruns.  Of course I still 10-runned them in the 6th or 7th.  It was a challenge, however, because I was behind through the first few innings.  I've never seen the CPU hit that well again.

Well, I usualy give up a run or two to the CPU All-Star teams.   Most of my pitches are straight and all the way outside.  I love how the CPU swings late at every single pitch....

And I couldn't play all those games in a row, got way too boring.  I started playing during commercials of Simpsons/Seinfeld for awhile and took an hour break another time.   One of the games was at 77 minutes on the scoreboard...
