Rickey was 65 and will be stealing his way to heaven.  I hope nobody breaks his record though with these silly base stealing rules and huge bases, it may be broken.

I did a book report on Mark Fidrych's biography once in grade school.  I found his mailing address in some baseball card magazine a few years later and sent him a card to sign as well as the book report, thinking maybe he'd sign that too or something.

He sent me the signed card back but kept the book report.

Hrbek was and is my all-time favorite Twin. But I first really got into following baseball by watching Cubs games on WGN... I played second base in tee ball and little league, and the Cubs' best player was their second baseman. Even as I followed the Twins more, especially after living in Minnesota, no one ever passed Ryno as my baseball hero.
