Geographic Differences...

Alrite, i know im really fishing here... but does anyone find differences in RBI play based on where you live?? on a very small scale, this actually exists in my hometown... in my town (roughly 25,000 people), it is a known fact that the West side of town pitches straight down the middle, and any ball is followed up by a down-the-middle w/no speed pitch... meanwhile, the east side plays only curve pitch... the debate gets ugly when the 2 sides argue over which is the 'real' way to play... and just like the DH rule, the home field (whichever side of town you're playing on) determines the set of rules... and yes, we are all between the ages of 20-24, and we still follow these rules religiously.. and its fun as hell to get people playing "out of their element"... you can see the West side king get slaughtered by the lousiest East side guy b/c, hey straight pitch is basically RBI softball in my mind...  anyway i was just wondering if any of you that have played RBI games around the country have found any interesting/unique rules that are played by everyone of a certain area...

Actually, I think I would be considered a Southsider or maybe a downtowner.  Anyone in your town play slurve?

     Actually, I'm a straight pitch player only. I think I'm the best straight pitch player in the world,now I just need to know if that is true.I'm always up for a straight pitch game,holla back. In all honesty in the 17 years of this game,I have never tried curve pitch.

slurve was actually a concept i only learned about by coming onto this website... i have played straight pitch (only when very drunk and interested in a HR fest) but have yet to try slurve.. it seems like itd take nearly the same amount of strategy and practice as curve to be very good... im always up for somethin new, ill let you know how it goes... but no, nobody in my town plays it...
