I downloaded a few different emulators, and then I got some of the roms but when I click on the file on my desktop, a small screen shows up for about a split second and nothing happens, I have no idea whats on the screen. I have repeated this process with no luck, If someone has any idea what I'm doing wrong, a little help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
What do you got there, the 4 volt? I did you a favor.

Do you have FCE Ultra? If not, get it!

Then, just download the roms to your desktop, and load them from the desktop. It's the easiest way.

I got the ultra but when I clickm on it, it says my computer doesn't know what file its opening and offers to search the web for it, when I do this it finds nothing, I am so horrible with CPU's it disturbs me,
Thanks anyway

You must open FCE Ultra and then open your ROM from the FCE Ultra Screen.  If it still doesn't work you may be running a mac version on windows or a windows version on a mac. Go here

http://fceultra.sourceforge.net/releases/

Mac versions are on the left windows on the right.  Hope this fixes your problem.

all right I got the game(2004 playoffs) working, I just have no idea what controls do what, I looked in folders for instructions but every folder involving the game is empty. I managed to get as far as picking my team, I get stuck on the cpu team.

I bleive the left control and alt buttons are the buttons.  Make sure you hit F3 to get rid of the menubar when playing or else you'll hit alt and accidentially go to the menu...

BeefMaster

If you want to change the buttons, go to Config in the menu, then select Input... - that will bring you to a screen in which you can set your controls to whatever you want them to be.

Got Madden 2005, but other then that I'm clueless on video games, any good recomendations on controllers and where to get em. Keep in mind it would only be used for RBI.
Thanks again

I use a Gravis GamePad Pro (actually, I have 2), which run about $15 at Best Buy.  It's basically a PlayStation controller without the analog sticks.  You can find similar controllers with the dual analogs for about the same price (you may want that for Madden), depending on the brand.
