agreed.  I am very proud that RBI Baseball was never tainted by steroids, although it is difficult to hear Benito Santiago being involved with all of this.  I guess he couldn't maintain that third spot in the AL All Star batting order this many years at .300, 18HR.

Is he the only RBI guy to have been involved with BALCO???

RBI pitchers are nice and fat, they don't need 'roids

Canseco's guilty of just about everything possible, but he was pre Balco.

All ROM's should be fixed so that canseco's numbers all have an asterik next to them. And tony armas, who was he kidding hitting 43 homers. You know he juiced.
Bearfucker! Do you need  assistance?!

what_foul_pole

Here are some other RBI's that likely juiced:

Dykstra
Raines
Dave Henderson
Kirk Gibson
Wally Backman
Jeff Leonard
Kevin Mitchell
Julio Franco

and Dickie Thon (Jack Lalaine juicer)

capt_taco

be interested to know if Eric Davis was a juicer... I mean, with the numbers he put up, then the injuries and the weird health problems, and then he never got back even close to where he was before? Maybe he used, maybe not, but a flame-out like that does make you wonder.

Baines

Davis was one skinny dude though.

Baines may have hit a homer with Baines, yelled Baines and immediately changed into a Baines jersey.

You know who's the best? Baines...

Eric Davis was absolutely NOT on steroids.  He was one of the greatest natural talents of the last twenty years. I think practically losing a kidney and then getting cancer shouldn't be considered a flameout.

His career was over in the `90 World Series when he dove to catch that line drive and his elbow fucked up his kidney.

That Nazi bitch Schott  screwed him on the medical too. Made him pay for his own flight or something, I dont quite remember. Davis was the man.

I always liked Davis.

The guy wasn't on the juice.  He had cancer, then kicked cancer's ass and kept on playing ball.

He's damn near kruk-esque.

And Galaraga-esque.

Shit, how many RBI'ers have had cancer?

What about Brian Downing (not for cancer, but steroids)?  That guy was fucking ripped.  Him and Lance Parrish.  Downing had Hulk Hogan-like guns.

I don't want to be the one potentially accusing an innocent man of using the juice--all I'm saying is that if you have a guy like Julio Franco (in my opinion totally clean) on the list--you gotta have Downing.

Back to Julio--there is no way he's taken the 'roids.  Two very common traits of the steroid abuser is the big-time injury history and a playing career that ends relatively early.  Look at the known abusers: Caminiti, Canseco, Ja.Giambi, McGwire.  All were hurt many different times.  Didn't one of them pull a muscle tying his shoe??  Franco has been healthy as a horse and played forever.  Julio is clean.

Bonds is actually a pretty good example of being ridden with injuries.  Since he started crushing homers, he's gone from a gold glove winner to a pathetic left fielder pulling ham strings walking toward line drives.  Shef. does fit your argument though.  As for Santiago, I haven't paid attention to him since the 80's, so I haven't a clue.

Santiago hasnt played since mid-June 2004. Fkn waste of space.

don't go after my boy downing.  actually i can see why he would be suspect, i think he is generally regarded as one of the first baseball players to do weightlifting or do it for bulk.

i would hate to think that he did, i know he was a dedicated, hardworking ballplayer, but it doesn't mean he didn't use.

there's one thing for sure, he wasn't hitting 73 homeruns... maybe in an RBI season.

If you noticed--santiago only played about 1/4 of the season w/ KC this year--and the previous note about Bonds is spot on.  The guy can field or run at all anymore.

Sheffield...well there are exceptions to everything.  You aren't going to convict a guy cause he was injured and retired early--just that among those who shoot up 'roids this is a common result.  Mabye Sheff. used them more sparingly and guys like Caminiti and Canseco went overboard.  who knows.

Just lay off my dogg, Julio.  I think Brian Downing was clean, personally, but man he was huge.

Blyleven_No-No

LOL!

I love the thread on how many RBIers had cancer...maybe there was something in the Tengen Field water supply??
