Got any better idea's?

heres a few observations i came up with from the recent curve pitching tourney we played.  looking fir some more help though.

Seemed like hitting was null and void for the first couple innings as the pitchers were sharp, so i think next time out, i will probably wait till the 2nd or even 3rd time thru the order to make substitutions, and hopefully cash in on the bonus power for the pinch hitter when the pitcher is starting to lose some steam.  this will depend on how well the starter is doing, hopefully by the 3rd inning he's not so sharp and much more hittable.

I also found that i was giving my opponent a few too many 5-8 pitch innings, so i gotta at least take the first pitch in most cases i guess, just to run up his pitch count.
i can remember a couple innings where the other guys pitcher maybe threw like 4 pitches total to retire the side, not good.  i was in a few close games and it felt like i had to have DOC Gooden strike everyone out as far in as the 5th and 6th inning.  I also kinda figured that you cant rely on the K's....yah gotta throw to some guys and hope they dont burn yah.

those seem like the keys to curve pitching for me, but im sure theres some more things to look for, that the experienced players can tell me.

I am no curve expert, but your analysis seems right on.  Getting that first stud pitcher tired is typically my key to scoring runs.  I tend to take a lot of pitches myself.  I pretty much can't hit jack for the first few innings, so getting the pitch count up helps me in the long run...

I'm not very good at curve (I've played a few games online, with mixed results), but it sounds like TecmoBowlTerror is on the right track.  Another thing to keep an eye on is your opponent's pitching style.  Some pitchers get very predictable with their inside and outside pitches.
