i pick burks, hes the full package

Gantry

That's right....  I really think Ruppert is the top sub, but Spilman needs some props

Sky Dawg

Armas' power makes it unfair to have him even considered among those others.  I think people like to go for the underdog but you gotta give Armas his due respect.  You're only fooling yourselves.

The Murph

Armas has the power, but Jones is an all around good player.  Not only will he hit dingers, but he has moderate speed that will bring him in from 2nd on a single.  the others are average, but i would have jones before any of the others.

sucka free

this is a tough one...either jones or burks.....I need to flip a coin....heads its burks.....tails its jones.......ITS HEADS!

I suppose it's only personal preference since I use Cali more than any other team, but I say Jones is best, although I could see arguments for Burks or Armas

chrisNJ

california is my team, but one of the guys i usually play with always uses boston.....and armas absolutely destroys me on a consistent basis.  although, burks is really good too, and definitely more of an all-around player. power-wise, though, it definitely has to be armas.

GDavis

My vote isfor Armas.  The 43 homers make him the most intimidating player off the bench.

jcbball86

armas might be intimidating for a rookie.  burks is WAY more consistant than armas.  second pick would be jones.  jones and burks both are really fast, get a good ammount of homeruns, and are very reliable, especially in later innings.  i dont trust armas as much as half the guys on the list.  now of course, armas can hit it farther than anyone else and maybe hit more homeruns, but other than homeruns, he cant hit, and when he does, he is tagged out because hes the slowest guy in the game.  i also like burks because hes right handed and i do a lot better with right handed batters and pitchers. i dont know why.

jcbball86

hey sucka, you said heads was burks and tails was jones and heads won....but theres only one vote for burks and its mine.
just wondering...

jcbball86

who do you all think the best in the whole game is?
murphy? mcgwire? guerrero?

i vote mcgwire

I have to go with Armas. There's very little sweeter than having your pinch-hitter hit a bomb. Few can match his power.
You're going down, chainsaw.

callmefairf

armas w/o question.  anyone who says otherwise is fooling themselves.
D Thon owns you

Gantry

I think it boils down to whether or not you like to hit with lefties or righties.  If you are a lefty-man like myself, you take Rupperto over Armas any day of the week....

callmefairf

I can accept that... Jones is a beast

I'm rather surprised that Detroit's bench players only got one vote.  There used to be quite a few Madlock fans awhile back...

vgp100

I used to use Mad Dog every time for Herndon. I guess I was fooled by his impressive stats. He really sucks more than he is good. He gets one at-bat a game--PHing for a pitcher.

detroit has good subs, but not great ones.  none of them are that dominating
