It's time to get some more video coverage online. And with me, there's always screaming, so beware. Anyways, to prep this first video clip, it's the second game of the Best-Of-Three championship between Gantry and I. Gantry's (Detroit) up by two runs, and it's the bottom of the 9th inning, while I'm (Boston) upto bat with one out. Jason is the guy commentating...and when you hear me bitching about Molly, that's Jason's dog. We'll get a picture up of her shortly as she was one (if not the only) mascot of the RBI 2K3 Tourney.



This second clip, nearly four minutes long, is a classic. With it, you get a lot of distractions (from Gantry), a strikeout, a nearly impossible hit, a huge championship-winning walkoff homer in the 10th inning, excitement topping the Ghosts 'N Goblins victory, a very distraught man, a barking dog, a "Booyaa", and much much more...



And for those of you who want to see a few images from the tournament, here you go. I'm sure Gantry will change this to a nicer slideshow, at some point.

What's with all the foul balls?  Is this common or is it due to the excessive drunkeness that must occur by the end of the tourney?

Question to the tourny participants...do you guys wear particular clothing during tournys?  Do you guys have a lucky shirt, hat, ect. kinda like a tournament uniform?

I'm not sure which album was playing during the finals.  Gantry will have to let you know that.

As for hitting too many foul balls, I tend to have that problem.  But hitting 10 or so in a row, yeah...that's a little alcohol-induced.

And as far as the clothing, tourney-attire is KEY!!!!  Usually...bandanas and afros (shros) show up for the pre-tourney festivities, but this year was a little different.  Potsie and Jason really didn't get into the "dress-up mode".  I elected to do something different this year...I basically wore my ESPN fantasy football championshipship during the round-robin.  And then I did what certain colleges do, during the NCAA wresting championships final round...they bring out their "championship round attire".  So I brought out the golden Spongebob "BOOYAA", which I bought for the tourney a couple weeks ago.  And Gantry brought out his "All American 83 (Andre Reed)" tighty shirt, which he has done before at previous tourneys.

That was absolute quality...

First off, I don't remember any of that.  No recollection of the final game, my outfit, the camera etc.  I'm glad I handled it as well as I did.  Some thoughts:

I had the game won, I couldn't turn a fucking double play.  To my defense, that happened to a couple people on tourney day.  It goes back to playing exclusively on the Dreamcast before the tourney.  It was very hard to throw to second on the Dreamcast, next to impossible unless you really think about it and take your time.  Either way, that was the game right there...

The foul balls - Lipitz is the biggest abuser of the foul ball, but we all do it.  You get stuck in a swing and cannot get out.  That many foul balls was absurd though.  And what does my drunk ass do?  Brings in Hernandez in the middle of an AB against a righty.  That could have been the game too, I should have waited for Burks to hit one fair...

The outfits are pretty much me picking out the ugliest stuff in my wardrobe (and I have quite a few goofy shirts I've gotten from thrift stores) and switching if I'm slumping.  Lips typically preps his wardrobe months in advance and Potsie is on-and-off...

Man, did I piss that tourney away!  I always kick ass in the round robin and am too drunk to play well by the finals.  Too bad we couldn't really see that Armas hit or Boggs homer...
