Here's another ROM for everyone to try out. It's completely edited and hopefully a few of you might like it.  It's similar to the ROMs that have been coming out lately...I guess you could call it a "retroROM".  It features great teams from the 1st half of the 1900's.

I've added a read me doc. which lists the teams, their W-L records and some notes about the ROM. I suggest taking a quick look, it's not long.

Any curteous comments or suggestions are welcome as I don't mind improving this ROM if it will make it better.

Enjoy!

Gantry

Wow, great start to the forums Rob!  These kids are getting smarter and smarter, two guys with home runs on their first posts today...

Anyway, I watch the intro and a half inning and it looks very good so far.  Good colors for the teams and all the text was nicely edited.  For those who want more info, here is Rob's text file, poorly formatted:

---

THE TEAMS:

               W-L Record      Team notes

1906 Chicago Cubs      116-36          Really, really fast, but no power.
1917 Chicago White Sox      100-54      Speedy, but no power.
1924 Washington Senators    92-62      When have you ever gotten to play with the                                                 Senators?
1927 New York Yankees      110-44      The best team ever--power and some speed.
1930 Philadelphia A's      102-52      Good balance.
1935 Boston Braves      38-115      One of the worst teams ever.  One good player.
1939 New York Yankees      106-45      Good balance
1942 St. Louis Cardinals   106-48      Weak line-up
1954 Cleveland Indians      111-43      More modern with better pinch hitters.
1955 Brooklyn Dodgers       98-55      Good balance

* I know some people don't like to have two of a team on a ROM, but it was just too hard to keep the Yankees to just one as they have had many great teams.  I whittled it down to two.

* Not every team here won the world series.  The '06 Cubs & '54 Indians had the best regular season records ever at those time and that is why they are included.

* Okay, here's the surprise of this game, nine of the teams are great and one is aweful.  The 1935 Braves were the worst team of the 1st half of the century.  I thought this might make it a little more interesting.  If no one like this I'll replace it with a good team.

* It's not an oversight that the A's are blue as this did used to be their team color.

The Murph

Excellent rom rob.  I played the best team of all-time NY'27 with Bos'35.  Those braves do suck.  One thing I noticed though, when Ruth & Gehrig would bat, i would throw down the middle and they always would hit a ground ball toward 3b or 1b.  Seems like they don't have power, maybe it was their pitch or something.  Anyway, great job on the ROM.
