Hi!

My roommate has modded his xbox to emulate all games NES.  Unfortunately, it is just not the same using an xbox controller when i play rbi!!  RBI is all about the feel, it is an art form... okay i got carried away.  Anyway, i was wondering if anybody knows of a way to plug an NES controller into the xbox(such as a converter or modding an existing controller, ect.)?  Any help is much appreciated!

I just found out that my brother in law, that is living with us has a modded Xbox, what do I need to do to play NES games on it?

Burn the Emulator and all .nes files on a CD?  Is it that simple or are there other tricks?

I hope your brother-in-law doesn't steal and wreck your car.

I just wiped my ass then smelled the toilet paper.  What's wrong with me?

My brother has an NES emulator on his modded XBox.  I think you can just transfer the .NES files onto the XBox over a network connection from a computer; however, I don't know what needs to be done to get the emulator running on the XBox (it probably depends on the OS that the XBox is running - different mod chips run different OSes).  If you'd like, I can PM you my brother's email address.

forsheet - There is a modded NES controller that can be plugged into a PC's USB port, which I believe the XBox has.  However, I doubt that the XBox would actually recognize an external controller, so you're probably out of luck.  I wouldn't be surprised if someone had hacked a NES controller onto an XBox connector, but I have no idea where you'd find one (other than if someone posted one on eBay).

The Xbox doesn't use a standard USB connection. If it did, you wouldn't have to pay stupid amounts of money for first-party and/or licensed controllers! We can't have that.

I knew it had its own controller ports, but I was thinking that the external keyboard (if not other peripherals) was USB.  I could easily be wrong, as I don't have an XBOx to look at.

The connector is the same as USB, so a USB peripheral would physically fit in the controller port just fine, but the wiring is different. There's hacks to work around this though.
