Background story: Last night I was in my basement riding my exercise bike and playing Ken Griffey Baseball on my SNES (my NES needs new connectors, so RBI wasn't an option).  In the first inning, I hit a 450-foot homer with Mark Grace, and I celebrated with a fist pump.  Of course, the bike is tall enough that I managed to scrape some skin off my knuckle on a ceiling tile, and it bled like a mother for the rest of the game.

Anyway, it got me thinking - anybody have any good injuries caused by RBI?  Wall punches, beat-downs by angry opponents, whatever - share your experiences on this thread.

I got a really big knot on my forhead when I suggested to my wife that she let me play RBI while enjoying oral pleasure.  She hit me in my forhead and told me to forget about either.  No RBI or oral pleasure that night.

The other night when Detroit committed their 6th error which led to three run, I swung my controller around like a lasso, intending to hit it against the area rug I was sitting on.  Instead, my drunk ass landed a direct hit on the side of my shin.  A knot developed instantly and there's an indent from the corner of the controller.

I just wiped my ass then smelled the toilet paper.  What's wrong with me?

I certainly have had NES controllers that have sustained RBI related injuries

It is always the controllers fault

riles

I play with a guy who use to abuse me whenever I would hit multiple homers.  He would throw the controller at me all the time.  Every time I went deep I would try not to laugh because I knew it would be a fist.  If I was quiet it was just a controller to the knee.  Anyways, the guy was getting beat so bad (Glass Joe) that when we took a break he hit the shower (No, I didn't follow him in).  He proceded to bang his head against the shower wall and yell.

I'm tellin ya the game can cause the mind and body to do some weird stuff.

Nobody has brought up mental injuries.  I recently experienced just over a year of mental anguish from the last 32 player tournament we hosted.  There is no greater pain than hearing the same two songs constantly loop and watching well over 200 games (played over app. 38 hours) of RBI within a 60 hour period.

Don't even tell me about physical injuries unless you were on your deathbed as a direct result of RBI.

That is pretty crazy, being there for every game, I can see why you changed to 16 player tourney

Baines

One time, like a dumbass, I thought I would be balls out and drink WildIrishRose instead of beer.  I vomited profusely in my friends driveway and i still have flashbacks to this day.

Baines may have hit a homer with Baines, yelled Baines and immediately changed into a Baines jersey.

You know who's the best? Baines...

Congratulations Baines!  Welcome to the RBI mental pain club.  Flashbacks count as mental anguish.  I feel your pain man.
