Gantry--your pitching ratings are reversed

Just a heads-up--I've thoroughly read thru the Nightwulf Rom Rating Tutorial (which is awesome, by the way), and I've learned that Right handed pitchers in RBI almost ALWAYS have a stronger curve the RIGHT than the LEFT.

Lefty pitchers are the exact opposite.

On this site's home page listing each team's roster and attributes the CL and CR columns are reversed.  In other words, all Righties have stronger LEFT curves and Lefties stronger RIGHT curves according to your chart.

Actually I'm not sure if I have it right. We should double check by having someone make a 15/0 and a 0/15 curve pitcher.

Righthanders have a stronger natural left curve - that is, the ball breaks in on a left handed batter and away from a right handed batter, which makes it curve more TO THE RIGHT on the screen.  Left handers have a stronger natural right curve - in on a righty and away from a lefty, which makes it curve more TO THE LEFT on the screen.

If a pitcher is a screwballer, of course, these may well be reversed, or perhaps equal.

It's really more a question of definition - the values are fine, the names are fine, we just have to be really clear what "right" and "left" mean.  The names in Nightwulf's (and everyone else's) editor are correct from the pitcher's point of view, just not the hitters.

Actually, I always thought of it as curving toward one side of the screen or the other, from a "camera" point-of-view in lack of a better term.

I was referencing MarquisEXB's RBI Rom Tutorial, this is how it reads:

Regarding curves, lefties usually have a higher curve left than curve right & vice versa. So if you look at the curve ratings of all pitchers, the righties average 7.5 (CRV-R) and 4.5 (CRV-L), and the lefties are about the opposite (4.5 & 7.5).

Is this incorrect?  The Tutorial is very well written and it sure seems like he knows what he is talking about.  Does he have it reversed?

I've always thought of the CRV-R as the on that goes to the right side of the screen, i.e. the batter's right. But shit it could be the other way around.

MarquisEXB certainly knows what he's talking about. The problem here is just the lack of a standard.

Anyone wanna put their foot down? Either way works for me.

maybe we should go by the original rbi booklet.  does the intructional manual address this?

If I remember correctly, I think the instruction booklet just grades the pitchers curve  A to F (A being best).  No individual grade for left or right curve
