You may be vastly overestimating just how lazy dee-nee is compared to Knobbe.

Turd

Haha, well, if that's the case, then I'll have myself an editor that I can use from anywhere instead of having to swap around an excel file wherever I go.

Still, even if I get a few people, it's better than doing it all by myself.

Lazy is one part but quite frankly I have a feeling most of us "regulars" who came here because of RBI simply don't play it anymore.  It's sad as hell I know but it's the truth - heck some folks probably only play when touraments come up.  The only time I can remember playing this year was at Dee-Nee fest.

This pisses me off now that I think about it, time for a new thread...

Attezz

I blame Octo for me not playing anymore.

Turd

That's too bad that interest is down. I mean, I don't have as much time as I used to, but I still enjoy this stuff as a hobby and I find time late at night to mess around with stuff when the wife and kids are sleeping.  I hope at least a 30 team ROM that's always being updated might light a little spark under the game.

If not, I know my friends and I still like to play a game or two now and again, so I always have that.  Either way, the result of this project should at least give someone some enjoyment, eh? Plus, I get to look at baseball stats and quench my thirst for the new season...

are we doing lineups with a DH or not?  I had a DH in my angels line-up.

Absolutely cannot do this.  RBI did not do this.  We shouldn't either.  Who the fuck do we think we are?

RBI also didn't include "also rans" on their cartridges.

What is an "also ran?"

The teams that didn't make the postseason.

TβG

before you answer, joe.... remember that the yankees didn't make it into NES rbi.

so there.

keep up the good work, tecmo.

gantry, how do you feel about contacting fryak and marquisexb about this new turn of events in the expanded rbi?  they were good compilers, were they not?

I'm almost finishes with the RBI collaborator. Just gotta add some finishing touches.

The collaborator website is ready.  It's rather crude, but it gets the job done nicely.

If you are interested in helping out, please hit me up and I'll create you a user account.  We can discuss some rating ideas, and go about rating these BAMFs (bad ass mother fuckers).  I've actually got all the ratings for the batters pretty much done.  Mostly they just need to be updated to reflect trades (which reminds me, I should probably code some player trader to make it easy to swap/move players.

I also need to setup a dump page that shows all the ratings in CSV or marquisexb format...that'll have to wait.

I'd really like to use this to release an official Dee-Nee ROM, so hopefully a few of you are interested in seriously helping out with rating some players.

At the very least, a few people just entering accurate pitching lineups (and tweaking the batting lineups) will go along way.

For everyone else, you can still get to the ROM exporter by visiting htp://rbi30.sweethoss.com.  This will allow you to export the current ROM as we have rated it (you'll see currently the pitchers will be set to "None" with minimal attributes.

Turd

For those who care, i'm now done with half the pitchers (for my stock ratings). I have to finish that and then pass through to make any adjustments.

TβG

it seemed like the generic pitchers in your first 30team iteration were throwing cutters.... did you see that too?

NOt really, can you elaborate?  I'll have to try it again tonight to see what you mean. I busted used a base rating for the dummy pitchers

TβG

sorry for getting back so late.  my play might just be anecdotal, but the computer controlled pitchers appeared to be moving the ball well late.  it had a cut effect.  it was actually increasing the difficulty of hitting.  probably a good thing.

Ahh, I see. Nothing I did. I have thr rom in beta form. I'll release it soon to get some feedback.  The ROM is done, and there wasn't much interest in collaboration, so for now, this idea is locked.
