I have been jamming to Sublime and the Offspring while RBIing lately. Namely "40 oz to Freedom" and "Ignition". Which leadds me to believe that '92 is a good year to listen to albums of that year while playing RBI.

Wouldn't it be best to listen to music from the RBI era? How about the Top Gun soundtrack? Or maybe Breakfast club?

"When the body screams Quit, The Spirit Cries Never!"

this is also a great RBI soundtrack to play along with. By the way, this might be the best message string yet.  Lawless, cruel summer, ralph machio, unbelievable.

"Fear does not exist in this dojo"
"yes Sensay"
"Pain does not exist in this dojo"
"yes sensay"
Mercy does not exist in this dojo"

I see what your saying about listening to mid 80's music while RBIing but I don't get into much 80's besides GNf'nR, Motley Crue, and a little Poison. Music started for me when grunge broke. With '92-'95 being my favorite music years.

How about naming some RBI players and what their favorite songs would be?

Such as:
Kevin Mitchell - Michael Jackson's "Beat It"

Speaking of the '80's, maybe Sutton and Carter were using Soul Glow from Coming to America . . .

"Let your Sooooouuuul Glow . . ."
Battle not with monsters lest ye become a monster, and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.

Maybe some old school Run DMC.  How about King of Rock? Especially since Jammaster Jay died.
You're going down, chainsaw.

Intro

This speech is my recital I think it's very vital
To rock (a rhyme) that's right (on time)
It's Tricky is the title here we go...

It's Tricky to rock a rhyme to rock a rhyme that's right on time
It's Tricky...it's Tricky (Tricky) Tricky (Tricky)
It's Tricky to rock a rhyme to rock a rhyme that's right on time
It's Tricky...Tr tr tr tricky (Tricky) Trrrrrrrrrrricky

Verse 1

I met this little girlie, her hair was kinda curly
Went to her house and bust her out, I had to leave real early
These girls are really sleazy, all they just say is please me
Or spend some time and rock a rhyme, I said "It's not that easy"

It's Tricky to rock a rhyme, to rock a rhyme that's right on time
It's Tricky...(How is it D?) It's Tricky (Tricky) Tricky (Trrrrrricky)
It's Tricky to rock a rhyme, to rock a rhyme that's right on time
It's Tricky...Tricky (Tricky) Tricky

Verse 2

In New York the people talk and try to make us rhyme
They really (hawk) but we just (walk) because we have no time
And in the city it's a pity cos we just can't hide
Tinted windows don't mean nothin', they know who's inside

It's Tricky to rock a rhyme, to rock a rhyme that's right on time
It's Tricky...(How is it D?) Tricky (Tricky) Tricky (Tricky)
It's Tricky to rock a rhyme, to rock a rhyme that's right on time
It's Tricky...Tricky (Tricky) Tricky (Tricky) huh!

Verse 3

When I wake up people take up mostly all of my time
I'm not singin', phone keep ringin' cos I make up a rhyme
I'm not braggin', people naggin' cos they think I'm a star
Always tearin' what I'm wearin', I think they're goin' too far
A girl named Carol follows Daryll every gig we play
Then D dissed her and dismissed her, now she's jockin' Jay
I ain't lyin', girls be cryin' cos I'm on TV
They even bother my poor father cos he's down with me

It's Tricky to rock a rhyme, to rock a rhyme that's right on time
It's Tricky...(How is it?) Tricky (Tricky) Tricky (Tricky)
It's Tricky to rock a rhyme, to rock a rhyme that's right on time
It's Tricky...Tr-tr-tr-tr-tr-tricky (Tr-Tr-Tr-Tricky) Tr-tr-tr...

Verse 4

We are not thugs (we don't use drugs) but you assume (on your own)
They offer coke (and lots of dope) but we just leave it alone
It's like that y'all (y'all), but we don't quit
You keep on (rock!) shock! Cos this is it...

NotURMasButArmas

I hope you cut and pasted that from a site.

my favorite run dmc jam is "you be illin".  unfortunately, i am not going to bust out with the lyrics.

ill'in  is a great song...but i agree, adding the lyrics was a bit over the top....however you just can't beat old school rap.  Ya dig?

B

id have to say my favorite old rap song, as well as string of favorite insults, is "cant do nothing for ya man" by public enemy...with the classic ending of

you on the welfare
your mothas got cold nipples
you got a rip in your couch
wash your butt

not quite a haiku...but touching none the less

bass for ya face
A couple of jesters? In the court of the king! IS THAT WHAT YOU'RE TELLING ME?!?!?!?
