Just heard that Mazilli was given the boot from his gig as O's manager.  Bum deal.  They had been over-achieving all year, before this recent rough patch.  Hopefully he catches on somewhere else.

Bad karma for Angelos.   Don't fukk with RBI legends, jackass.
Jim Lindeman is Jesus in baseball cleats

"Legend" might be a bit of a strong term, here.  Maybe more like "guy who you bring in when the rest of your bench is gone".

Ever check the legends pages?  They're linked from the menu bar on the main dee-nee page:

RBI Legends
   R. Burleson
   R. Bush
   R. Jones
   J. Lindeman
   T. Puhl
   P. Sheridan
   H. Spilman
   M. Sullivan
   T. Teufel
   R. Wilfong

I'd say Mazilli fits in.

Dryden

Yeah, I guess he does fit in pretty well with that group...  but isn't Teufel the Mets representative?

I consider all of them legends.  I guess it's like the special olympics.

It has not been a good MLB season for RBIers.  2 players have been released and now a manager is fired.

The lack of respect in MLB for RBI'ers borders on criminal.  We need a full-time lobbyist, who wants the job?  I think Bonny can scare a few folks into hires...

Attezzobal

It's widely known around Baltimore that he was never able to gain the respect of the players.

Most people were surprised to see him back this year, the fans never liked him, the players never liked him, nobody really liked him.

Ray Miller was also responsible for all their early success, Mazilli made so many mistakes using the bullpen that it just became humorous.

This was a long time coming.
