Hey.  I just got up and running with Mozilla Firebird 0.6.1, and while I was going from site to site resetting my cookies, I realized something that I enjoy about Mozilla-based browsers - they display the favorite icon in the address bar (although not, oddly enough, in the bookmark list).  Anyway, it also made me realize that Dee-Nee.com doesn't have a favorite icon.  I did some checking and found out the proper size for an icon (16x16 pixels), and then I took the head of the California player Gantry uses as his forum avatar and converted it.  It's still in GIF format at the moment (I don't have anything that can save in .ico format), and it could probably use some trimming to remove the visible part of the arm, but I figure that's something best left to the judgment of the webmaster anyhow.

Feel free to let me know if you think this idea is stupid; it ain't my site, after all.

Solid!  Time to reboot to Linux and see what The Gimp can do...

Well, it's there but I'm not sure what else needs to be done to get it to work...  I think mozilla/firebird may be confused because dee-nee.com gets immediately forwarded to /rbi - if i make a bookmark in ie I can see it but not mozilla

At least I can get rid of those "favicon.ico not found" error messages in my apache logs...

I did a bit of googling, and I managed to come up with this article, which looks fairly informative: http://www.thesitewizard.com/archive/favicon.shtml

I know basically nothing about web development, however, so that's about as useful as I can be at the moment.

That did it, placed the <link> tag on the /rbi page and it now shows up in Galeon, a Linux variant of mozilla.  Let me know how it looks on windows browsers...

Nice work - it works on Moz 1.3 on my Win2k machine here at work; I'll check it out with Firebird when I get home, but I'd assume it looks fine there as well.  One thought - you might want to see if you can change the white background to transparent.  It looks normal in the address bar, since the background there is white, but I just opened it in a tab, and the white looks a little out of place.  The GIF I posted originally had a transparent background, but some imaging programs don't handle transparency well, so it could've gotten lost when you imported/exported it at some point.

It worked in Firebird this morning as well.  Firebird puts the favorite icon in the favorites menu, too, so I see the RBI guy every time I surf.
