What players are still active?

Sadly, it is time to update/recognize the fact that Jesse Orosco is no longer one of the elite.  He goes down officially in the books as #7.

Could he return, ala Julio Franco after a stint in the Mexican Leagues? sure, but there is no indication as of yet.  It is more likely that Canseco will make it back--as he still has the desire.

I hear Canseco's been working out in an attempt to make it back to the bigs for homerun #500...

I'd be all for seeing a Jose comeback, or any other RBI player for that matter, however who knows if he'll ever get his head on straight.  Personally I'm not very optimistic.

As much as it pains me to say it, I'm not optimistic about an Uncle Jesse comeback either.  I may possibly spend the next few years in denial that he's hanging it up but I just don't think it will happen.  Had he been released by the DBacks, I think he would try to catch on somewhere else but with him leaving on his own terms, unfortunately I think that's it.

Who the fuck would want this guy.  Just because he's huge doesn't mean a damn thing.  I doubt he'd be able to get the bat around.

He never got in trouble for it - his admission was after he retired, as a teaser for his upcoming.  What ever happened with his book?  Anyone know when it is/was supposed to be released?  I suppose they'd have to wait until after someone reads it to Jose, so he can do interviews.

Apparently he did have to go to jail on a parole violation when he tested positive but then was released a few days later when his lawyers argued that his past steroid use made it impossible to determine if he took steroids while on probation.
