Just pulled off what has to be a record.  I just had 12 straight bunts with out making an out.  including a back to back to back homers with John Tudors grand slam, Vince Coleman and Ozzie Smith smashing bunts to the wall.    It was against the computer but come on.... 12 straight bunts with out making and out.

PS Jack Clark pulled out the whooping stick went "Natural" all over the Tengen stadium lights.  Top of the 1st 0 outs  STL 13   AM 0   on 12 bunts and The Natural.

I'm a big fan of bunt hits.
What is your bunting style? Straight on, or angled bat?

Shit Briznock, that's incredible.  My best is only three, I think.

I bunt with a straight bat because I feel I have more control over where the ball will end up.  I show bunt and when the pitch comes back away a little bit and go down in the box.  With a speed demon performing this move, it's pretty much a guaranteed single against the computer.

Against a live opponent, a bunt by Vince will sometimes garner a single, every once in a while due to the pressure put on the opponent to field the ball cleanly and make a solid throw.

I just wiped my ass then smelled the toilet paper.  What's wrong with me?

the dude either has some high float or a mess between the cheeks.

In my opinion, Lou Whitaker has the best bunting ability of any RBI'er

I thought you hated Lou Whitaker with a passion you usually reserve for the New York Football Giants.

I can never lay down a good bunt with a righty, it has to be a lefty.  Believe it or not, I have the most luck with Tommy Herr.  I figure he isn't gonna get the ball out of the infield anyway, so fuck it.

I do hate him. If he get's an at-bat, it will often be a bunt. I hate him so much he never gets to actually wing away.

That is an impressive display of bunting.  I've found that the tilted-bat style of bunting doesn't work very well in RBI; the ball almost always goes foul (note: this could be just my incompetence).  When playing against a human, I occasionally have success with a swinging bunt - I stop the bat just past the "Tettleton" point, where it become an actual swing, then resume the swing.  If done right, I can bloop it down the third base line, and a fast runner can make it before the 3B gets there.

McLane, your bunting strategy intrigues me - I'm going to have to some practicing and see if I can learn to direct my bunts with a straight bat.

I used a system that i think i am going to stick with from now on......

When i have a lefty up and a lefty on the mound its tilted bat
When i have a righty up its flat bat.

same way with righty - righty match up
Its worked for a while and just worked to perfection today.

has the computer ever tried to bunt against you? I don't think this has ever happened to me.
What do you got there, the 4 volt? I did you a favor.

BDawk

I've seen the computer bunt. Ususally it looks like he fucked up the swing and it just comes out like a bunt.
