Hey, 'first time in the forum.  Is there still any thought about an on-line league being set up?  I'd be interested as all freakin' hell.
I don't know what I'm doing.

I wouldnt mind setting one up (website) for somebody who would want to run it. Your probably going to have "high-speed" only memebers.  A good way to start would be to post your contact information on this thread. AIM, e-mail, and anything else you think is necessary. A league will not work without a messenger plain and simple. You need to be able to come online and find your opponents and get games in. Play-by-e-mail will never work. At least that is how it's done in tecmo, and it works fine.

An idea I had for a league too was if maybe nighwulf or somebody knows how to set up simple databases, and people could enter the game stats for each game, and it would calculate the standings, as well as show team stats. Maybe give the guys who are out of the pennant race a reason to keep playing.

Chet has hit most of the major points of an online league, and all it will really take are dedication and broadband internet.  I personally don't have the time to keep one afloat, but all the tools we need are available - 6-8 guys with a cable/DSL modem, a windows PC with FCE/Nesticle and AOL Instant Messager.   Someone needs to corral all the stats and post them on a website (which is available via rbicentral)....

Cool stuff.  I'm dying to play (playing the computer is boring and I'm like the only dude in my town that's playing this still.)  Anything I can do in the future to help set one up would be no problem.  I'll keep checkin' in.
I don't know what I'm doing.

Please do, and I'll keep your email handy if one gets started.  It'll happen at some point...

I'd be interested in an online league. Pitching perfect, 27 K games against the computer is losing its appeal.

I have DSL, but am not sure how the network play thing works with FCE.

Trivial to do with MySQL, or even fake it with text files and Perl in a pinch. Unfortunately, there's only so many hours in the day .... :(

I'd love to do an online league. I think we need to build a place where people can "meet" so we can at least scrimmage. A message board or irc channel, or a list of AIM/Y!M names would be a good start.

We can worry about stats once we have established a group of people with online playing experience.

I know I'd definitely need help with finding out everything I'd need, exactly, but I do have FCE which does work great I gotta say.
