American RBI league comments

So my question is, do we want to turn off the 10 run slaughter (or maybe increase it)

There are going to be 10 run first innings with these lineups, so if you have a bad first you could be in trouble.  The only problem is there will be longer games for whoever is simulating.  Maybe we could change the slaugter to 15.

What do people think, Bastardo, what's your feeling?

For what it's worth, I've been simulating games with NesterJ which allows you to speed it up, so games have been played in usually around 5-7 minutes, but yeah, very, very high scoring (TBT's team once had a 13 HR inning against me).

I'll attach the rom I used and try to update it with the recent picks soon.

I certainly be open to upping the slaughter rule, we could take a vote on it... ...does NesterJ still allow you to score the game while fast forwarding?

Realistically, you could score a game while having it on (basically) 2X speed, but you'd really have to be quick with the scoring, you could also pause it after each play, but that may be quite the hassle and not worth it. It seems that a typical game will probably last in the neighborhood of 30 minutes, which is twice as a long as a normal game.

As far as the scoring goes, I'll do my best, along with whoever else wants to help run some games once in a while... ...we may want to keep the 10-run in then so that some slaughters do happen and my wife doesn't have to strangle me for watching RBI baseball on my computer until 4 am.

If it interests anyone, I simmed games against everyone else with rosters as updated as the draft has gotten (if there weren't enough hitters I used the last drafted and went back to fill up, I put the drafted pitchers in and then had the pitchers who's NES team you matched up with, I fucked up on Ult's pitchers, but I think that's it)

Anyway, it's in a zip file and I've included the movies from all seven games, the game versus OctoFranco was quite intense, as was the one against ultimate, I also included nesterJ which you can use to watch it in fast forward so it generally takes about six minutes per game and not half an hour (not sure if it'll work on any media players, as I'm at work and it doesn't work on my windows media player)

Anyway, just in case anyone cares. Here it is.

Based on how TBT drafts his pitchers, he seems to be the favorite

Putting them into three groups I'd go

TBT/Ultimate
Attezzobal/OctoFranco/OtherRyno
Bonny/Nomaaa/Bastardo

You and Bastardo each have big hitters, but not all the way through like TBT does. You (nomaaa) seem to have the best pitching though.

glad to hear im getting good reviews by attabozzle...i went thru this crap with a fine tooth comb to draft the team the best powerwise that i could, and fill positions accordingly, so i wasnt lopsided or anything.

hopefully nana funk and the turd hounds can kick some serous ass.

another query here...
if we are drafting arcade and nes players, how will we accomodate the other players from the "real" rbi league (who are only drafting nes players. won't we whomp them (or shouldn't we)?

We aren't competing against the other league

but i thought the two crappiest of their league were eventually joining ours and the  two best of ours were eventually joining theirs.
