Recap:

Rob Wilfong's two-run homer in the eighth inning proved to be the difference as The OC defeated The South Arkansas Penis 15-14 in a Gantry Division game played Monday at Tengen Field. The win is the third straight for The OC (4-1) and temporarily gives them sole possession of the Gantry Division lead.

The homer was Wilfong's second of the game, and he finished with 4 for 5 with five RBI. Keith Hernandez and Andre Dawson also homered twice for The OC, while John Franco and Todd Worrell combined to give up just one run over the final two innings of work.

Jeffrey Leonard homered twice and drove in three for The South Arkansas Penis (3-2), which dropped its second straight game after starting the year undefeated. Donnie Moore took the loss, giving up Wilfong's game-winning home run in the eighth.

Recap:

Tom Brookens' two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth propelled The Frank Tanana All-Stars to a come-from-behind, 16-14 victory over The Unholy Legions of Doom in a Doverbi Division game played Thursday afternoon at Tengen Stadium. The Frank Tanana All-Stars had trailed by as much as 11-0 in the fourth inning before clawing their way back for an improbable comeback.

"I feel like someone just punched me in the nuts, and then kicked my teeth out after I hit the ground," said Unholy Legions of Doom owner Beefmaster. "Christ, now I know what Richard Man Freddy must be feeling."

Howard Johnson had tied the game for The Unholy Legions of Doom (2-3) with a two-run double in the top of the ninth inning. Will Clark homered twice to lead his team, while Jose Canseco drove in five.

For the division-leading Frank Tanana All-Stars (4-1), Greg Gagne had two homers and joined Brookens with five RBI each.

BeefMaster

That was an impressive choke job by my offense for the last five innings.

Jack Morris is on the trading block, if anyone's interested.

Recap:

It would have been a surprise to no one who watched THE Parish State University take a 9-0 lead against The Creamy Pirates on Friday to find out that the game ended in the seventh inning because of the 10-run mercy rule. The shock would have been which team won, as The Creamy Pirates found a way to rally, including an incredible 14-run sixth inning, to shock THE Parish State University 24-12 in a Gantry Division game.

Mark McGwire's three-run homer in the sixth inning was one of several blows The Creamy Pirates (4-1) delivered to embattled Parish State (2-3) reliever Nolan Ryan. They had 13 hits in the inning, and were also helped by two errors. McGwire added a solo shot in the seventh, and finished the game with five RBI. Tom Brunansky also drove in five, while Ray Knight added his first two home runs of the season.

Parish State looked ready to close out the game early thanks to their nine-run first inning. Wally Joyner drove in all of his team-leading three RBI in that inning, including a two-run home run. However, their offense sputtered again as they dropped their third straight game. Meanwhile, The Creamy Pirates have won four in a row after dropping their opening game of the season to The South Arkansas Penis.

Wow indeed.  A rough outing for Nolan Ryan to say the least.

fightonusc

Yeah, you hate to give up 19 runs, but in his defense, only 15 were earned.
