You got some software that helps you right?  You aren't compiling the boxscore by hand are you?

I'm thinking of writing my own software to score games import lineups and export the stats, but I haven't programmed since I changed jobs.  I was thinking about buying some software, but really I want to write some code just to do it.

I'm really not sure how tough it is going to be to write the scoring part, it'll probably take me a few(6-12) months to do.  Especially since I'll mostly be doing it during my lunch.

I am using a Shareware product called Baseball Scorebook by Score-It Software. Since it's a demo version, there are a few things you can't do (the full version would track stats for you - instead I have to do it by hand), but it's just fine for the basic stuff.

Thanks, software seems nice, I'm gonna try it for a game it'll help me for ideas if I decide to write my own.

So you have to manually advance all the base runners, wow, that's a lot of work, seems like it should default to advancing then you could advance additional bases if needed.

Found the batter advance button which makes it easier, don't like that I can't resize the screen though, can't watch the game and score at the same time, have to keep minimizing recalling the Virtual NES.

You can have both up at the same time - you should be able to resize the screen.

I'll PM you a screenshot of what my screen looks like when I simulate games so you can see what I mean.

OK, I'll try to resize again, maybe I'm just an idiot

If you're talking about resizing the actual scorebook part (with the rosters and the blank diamonds, liek what an actual scorebook would look like), then you have to grab the corner and drag it to whatever size you want.

Frustrating but I think the version I have cannot be resized, I can move it around but when I go to the corners or the sides resizing isn't allowed, and the scoring sheet takes up basically the whole screen.
