Octo 22 Ult7 20

In the first actually exciting game of the season, Ult took a 9-3 lead into the 6th thanks a strong outing from Phil Niekro, but then he started tiring and Fernando came in and got rocked over the next 2 innings and Octo pulled ahead 18-9 while Saberhagen pitched wonderfully for Octo.  But the Ult got 10 runs in the 8th off Tom Henke including back to back 2 out PH HRs from Dale Murphy NES and Duke Snider.  Maris hit a 2 run shot in the bottom of the 8th to regain a 20-19 lead for Octo.  With 2 outs in the top of the 9th Eric Davis hit a solo shot to tie the game, but Octo won the game in the bottom of the 9th with a lead off single from Mike Schmidt followed by a 2 run walk off by Jose Canseco NES.

I think my first game was pretty damned exciting.

Bastardo 26 Bonny 16

Nolan Ryan gave up 7 in the top of the 1st to Bastardo, thanks to a 3 run HR by Joe DiMaggio, but Bonny tied it up at 11 after 4 thanks to 3 HRs in Kingman's first 3 ABs, but after that it was all Bastardo as Bob Gibson got rocked.  He may be having trouble intiminating batters in that pink uniform.

Attez 26 TBT 21

In a relatively poorly played and pitched game, the hitters ruled, too bad they couldn't run the bases, I'm not sure I've ever seen so many guys thrown out trying to get an extra base.  TBT led 14-13 after 4 as each starter was hit relatively hard, but Whitey Ford was able to slow TBT's offense in relief, while John Tudor was not nearly as successful against Attez's offense, as Attez eventually opened up a 26-17 lead and hung on in the 9th.  George Foster had a monster game for Attez.

I think the first three batters against Tudor hit a bomb.

And I agree with the runners being thrown out, I counted at least 3 at second base and I believe another at third base.

Other 25 Nomaa 21

After praising Gooden last week he got rocked this week, giving up 9 in the first all after 2 were out and putting Nomaa in a big hole.  Other led 20-9 when Nomaa came back against a tiring Sutton who didn't get pulled until Fisk hit a 3 run shot to cut it to 22-20 in the bottom of the 7th, but from there Other's bullpen took control of the game.  Nomaa was also hurt from a combined 2-14 from his #1 and 2 hitters.

also, in the later innings, a lot of my balls were fly outs very near to the wall, thus adding further disappointment.
