king is on the right side of the rubber, as i'm looking at the screen.   so he's set up outside and i can work the ball with curves off the outside of the plate or nip it.

This is not a winning strategy with King.  Sure, it's the only way to pitch him, but it's bound to get blasted.  That's percisely why he sucks.  That's also why it's more ideal to do this strategy with the oppo hand as the batter.

i guess i would have to agree with you.  but i don't consider king better than hernandez in the first place.  i was just describing how i use him.  you make a good point and i'd have to change my strategy to what you suggest and try it some.  unfortunately all i have to play against is the computer.

i've never had quality competition in rbi on a regular basis in my life.  so what do i know, really?  most of my games consist of straight-pitch on the outside part of the plate to the cpu.

i never said i was good, only what was effective for me.  and that happens to be against the computer.  take it for what it's worth, albeit, not much.

i counted seven posts in this thread where i address the issue of king.  it's about six more than i would have liked to have made discussing a crappy pitcher.

the calendar WAS a 1989 angels calendar, and we settled this a long time ago.  they're gone now.
