You think the forum is going to attract and keep new users when some of the jagoffs here post a link or mention the search feature to threads that aren't even in the first 5 pages?

This is not a business. We're not building clients. If we gain 5 users or 500 users over the course of a year, the forum still goes on for those who enjoy it.

I'm not even close to being a newb to message boards, but the reception I got when I first started posting wasn't exactly gracious.

Taunting of new users who bring up old topics without searching is very much not exclusive to Dee-Nee.

You registered and began posting the same day (yet another) MR RBI account was banned, and your first post was in one of his threads. The jury is still out, but your ability to spell and produce a coherent sentence sets you far apart from him.

I think sarc brings up a good point, and the thread is a good idea.  It's one sticky thread in the RBI board and would go a long way to finding some of the best topics.  I too have had issues with the search, especially when using multiple words.  I've always said that folks should be kinder to new posters, especially those that go way out of their way to post RBI-specific stuff...
