And our game cost $207 from EBay, but was over $150 to ship (thank you Canada)...

is that sarcasm or are you saying $150 is alot... i know pines paid more than that to get ours and it came from nebraska...  which might be more rural than canada.

You guys have the full-sized one, that might be the difference.  $150+ for shipping is a lot of money in my book...

That slow pitch is definitely a fork ball, nothing more, nothing less.  That is why Mike Scott is the best at it.  That is exactly what he threw.  The only reason it flutters is because if it didn't, it would just drop out of the strike zone without warning and would be the most deadly pitch of all time.  Don Baylor is not slow at all.  He can swipe a base at any time.  I would say it is more like B+ speed.

i never said baylor was slow... i said he wasnt a fast "a" speed.  b speed would be more like it...  he cant steal a base and that usually determines the "a" speed players.

Our machine is a standup I think the final bid was 375, but shipping was a little over 200. Then something wasn't working right, so I had to ship  part back, another 25 dollars. So about 600.

For about 2 weeks it sat in our gameroom collecting dust, I never thought it was going to work. It works great but Joe doesn't like to stand up and play, so it doesn't get played as much as the Tengen.

Aboot the FAQ: Do you think Ozzie should be listed as one of the fastest, or maybe that Ugly bastard Willie Mcgee, instead of Davey Lopes?  And I think the Rocket should be listed along with Nolan Ryan and Senor Smoke for the fastest pitchers, because I hurled one at 102 mph yesterday with him in the 4th inning.

i definately think that clemens is on the same level with ryan and senor smoke...   garelts can also get it up there at that speed.

i think coleman and raines are the two fastest in the game with ozzie right behind them.

grelts can throw the heat, but he also has less action than the chess club in junior high.....

ozzie, willie and most of the cardinals are really fast....however, i still think that raines, coleman and lopes are the quickest....they are all A speeds....for some reason, tony qwynn is fast too...which is impressive for his build

How do you throw one of those pitches that hits the dirt?

back when this game was made, gwynn was a speedster believe it or not...   he was the starting point guard for sdsu and was drafted in the nba...   however, knee problems and an apetite have led his belt size to increase over the years.

craig,  to throw the splitter you push up while pressing a.  however, some pitchers dont have that pitch so you have to be careful...  if it doesnt drop, it is very hitable.

According to the RBI manual, throwing a wobbler that crosses the plate is a kunckleball and the one that drops in a sinkerball.  I'll put them in the FAQ as such...

Never did get to writing up the qustions this weekend, holidays and final four took a toll on the freetime.  Expect a bunch of new questions later this week...

here are a couple more questions...

why do the defensive players run faster to bases than they do when they are chasing the ball?

why cant the fielders throw the ball to the bases in the air...   yes, i know they can if you throw a rainbow but we all know that is not the fastest way.

The only questions I can put in the faq are ones I can actually answer.  Many of the questions people are giving are good questions and funny, but I need to be able to answer it to put it in the FAQ...

But keep em coming..

here's one you might be able to answer...  why are the angels a softball team...  they cannot hit in curve style.
