New Account Deletion Policy

A new rule in place, implemented by nightwulf and heartily approved by myself.  Once you get to 500 posts, you cannot delete your account.  I love all of you Dee-Nee deleters & returners, but implusively deleting your account in a fit of rage is irritating to most folks and I'm a little tired of it.  I will still allow account deletions for the right reasons (like EDFan's recent departure) but people who want to leave will have to really show me that they don't want to come back.  Otherwise it's just best to leave the account active and see if people cool down and want to return.  90% of the time they do, so keeping the account on ice is the best policy...

This is a democracy in a way, so let me know if the mods are out of line here...

I approve of this decision.  In addition to being an attention-whore move, deleting accounts also screws up searching.

I was petrified of coming back on dee nee today after all the updates and finding that we were all at square one.  There's just too much history.  Deleting an account or entire thread should not be allowed and I love the decision.

what if i deleted a sufficient number of my posts to get below 500, then could i delete my account?  I can easily imagine ryno coming back, getting back to 14,000 posts, then just because he got mad, deleting 13,501 posts just so that he could delete his account again.
