GDavis Outlasts Frank Tanana All-Stars, 14-12

DEE-NEE CITY - Tony Armas homered twice, and Lou Whitaker homered and drove in four as GDavis took sole possession of first-place in the Gantry Division and clinched a playoff spot with a 14-12 victory over a scrappy Frank Tanana All-Stars squad at Tengen Stadium on Monday.

"Well, this is just part of an epic journey," said team owner GDavis after the game. "We've come so far, but we have so far to go. Wow, that's really poetic!" GDavis then hurried to his office to write the phrase down and then e-mailed it to Lemmy from Motorhead as a possible lyric for their next album.

GDavis (8-3) went up 10-5 in the second inning and threatened to run away with the game. But the Frank Tanana All-Stars (3-8) refused to quit, scoring four unanswered runs late to pull to within two.
