i say
definately Raines
he is faster than Jackson
has as much power as either Jackson or Gibson
plus he is leadoff, which means he almost always gets a hit
come on, Kirk Gibson,
if he's so good why isn't he on an all star team??

Gibby's not on the all-star team because he's on Detroit, Clemens is the same way, maybe  he wasn't good enough for the all-star team either. I'm pretty sure the Am, and Na teams were made after the other 8 teams were made.

Like Greg said, the All-Star team consists entirely of players who aren't on any of the 8 teams.  Regardless, All-Star status is one of those "real world" things that doesn't directly apply to the fantasy world of RBI.  Guys like Ruppert Jones, Ellis Burks and Pat Sheridan, who don't even start on their RBI teams, outproduce many of the All-Stars...

TIm Raines is definitely a stud, one of the top players in the game.  I just don't think he is better than Jackson and he certainly doesn't have as much power as Reggie, at least in straight-pitch.  And in straight pitch, the homer is king...

QuoteSpike Owen is by far the best player in RBI.  His power and speed are unmatched. If I could, I'd even bring him in to pitch!!!!

I think i have found my long lost brother...Much love to Spike Owen!

spike owen huh... talk about a waste.. i would hit with the pitcher before i woud hit with owen.  if i had to pick a non allstar it would be jim rice... he just hits and hits and hits.

i'd pay to see a fight between Spike Owen and Rafael Santana.  Maybe throw in Denny Walling as the special guest referee.

With a name like Spike, how can he lose in a fight?

As a batter in RBI, though, I have finally come to the realization that he sucks ass, as I'll never keep him in a game again unless I'm playing Gantry and it's Spike's first at-bat with a man on first.  That's the only chance I'll give him...

It's all Hendu in the 8-Spot!!
RBI isn't just a game, it's a lifestyle...

And for background, Lips has been keeping Spike in for the last few weeks.  He did get his day in the sun, and he proved to be worthless.  Perhaps it's time to do the same with Bobby Grich....

I don't see how you can leave Spike in the game, especially with how awesome the Boston bench is.  I like to put burks in the 8 hole, Henderson leading off and Tony Armas hitting number 2.

i agree with mookie... get buckner's slow ass out of there cause he flat out sags!

Yeah, buckner definitely sucks. i would only leave him in if the ball could somehow go through his legs on every play to first. Then i would laugh hysterically and yell at Joe and give him bad memories of 86 over and over again.

its a shame that when they make errors that they dont get past the player.  instead... they just bounce off them sending sweat flying everywhere.    and what's the deal with runners rolling off the field when they get out... and are they crying?

In the immortal words of Tom Hanks, THERE'S NO CRYING IN RBI BASEBALL!!!! ok, so maybe he didn't have the rbi in there. but i'm pretty sure he said it, and they just edited it out in final production.

Because I haven't known of Sullivan's late inning pop in the bat, I have been leaving Hendu on the bench for some 8th or 9th inning heroics.  Burks is the prototypical leadoff man, and there is nothing better than Armas smashing 3 homers in curve pitch from the 8 hole.

the problem with putting armas in the 8 hole is he wont see any pitches...

Gwynn makes a good point, Armas in the leadoff positon might be odd cause he is the slowest sonbitch in the game, but in the 8th spot we'll walk him and pitch to the pitcher. So leadoff might be best.

there are times when i would rather put him in for boggs for there are times when that beer-guzzling, chicken-eating, margo adams loving, horse riding freak is just not on his game.  of course that means either buckner or barrett has to play... but marty has had his share of good luck lately.

Hey buckner and boggs play for me, we need lefties in the lineup, Boggs is good for at least 1 wall scraper a game.

Even though Boggs did look pretty ridiculous riding on that horse after they won the series.

I leave boggs in.  He always seems to go 4/4 with a homer when i play with him.  I dont like buckner too much though.  He never plays good, but i like to leave him because its always funny to hear someone complain if he hits a homerun.
