RBI Alumni Update... Lou Whitaker

Not sure if this has been mentioned here or not.  I don't read the forums as often as I used too and I seem to remember that there were some other Tiger fans on the board, so if this has already been mentioned, please forgive me.

Lou Whitaker is taking a much larger coaching role that he did last year.  Last year his work with the team essentially came down to a day or two of observation and comments to new Tiger manager Alan Trammell.

This year Lou is in uniform and has been in Lakeland from day one of Spring Training.  He has stated that he would like to take a more involved role both during ST and when the regular season starts.  It's not known if he will be a part of the Major League coaching staff when they come north, but from some of the comments and quotes I've heard I expect that at the very least he'll be a coach with a minor league team or a roving coach for the whole minor league system.
