I've always thought Bud Ice wasn't that bad.  I love the 5.5% alcohol, those things can get you pretty blitzed.  The first one isn't that good but once you get to 6 you really start liking them.   I think I'll have to get some for tomorrow now.

I think once you get to half a dozen of any beer they start to taste good.  Except maybe Old Style...

Another beer from our college days was Steel Reserve - over 8% alcohol and came in tall, steel cans.  Boy did it
taste bad though.  Could never drink more than one....

Natural (read Natty) Ice can also be considered blackout beer, plus it is much cheaper than Bud Ice.  More bang for your buck.  It doesn't taste any worse than the Bud Ice.  Try this if you are low on cash but really want to get trashed.  It is obvious that the "Greatest RBI Moment" revolves around beer according to these conversations.

Natty Ice is by far the worse.  I'd take out a second morgage before i drank that shit.

It seems that cheapo canned beer is a regional thing.  No cheapos drank Nat Ice at NIU, but people coming in from other college typically would.  We were big on Keystone and their variants.  Red Dog as well...

Alll great things are typically accompanied by beer.  Tis a most solid discussion so far...

Natty Ice isn't for women.

The worst beer is a tough call...

Most of the bottom-tier beers fall into the 40oz range.  I don't know how I drank so much of that shit when I was younger.  I'm going for the Hurricane 40 as teh worst right now.  Really, really bad...

Definitely have to agree that the worst beer is going to be a malt liquor in a 40oz bottle hidden inside of a brown paper sack.  We had this stuff once called Camo which was 9.8% alcohol, but it was a can, but it was also horrible.  Couldn't finish the can off.  And this is coming from a guy who can stomach many cans of Old Style and Pabst Blue Ribbon.

Camo sounds like Steel Reserve with more alcohol, that's just scary...

King Cobra is another terrible 40, make Old English taste like champagne...

Speaking of PBR, Sperling (hello?) has an unopened can of Pabst's from the late 1970s.  That might possibly be the worst beer of all time....

Anyone ever had Golden Anniversary Beer? That stuff is terrible.  A good strategy is to start out with some good beers, lets say Corona or Heneken. Then after about 3, switch to cheapo beer such as Busch or Keystone. After 3, although still nowhere near drunk or buzzed, any beer tastes good.

I am thoroughly impressed Mookie, as I've never ever heard of Golden Anniversary beer....

You aren't missing out. I had it once. it was terrible. From here on out, it will never be spoken of again.

just when i thought it couldn't get any better... we might have a player under to catagories in the "where are they now" board for i read that george stienbrenner is going to offer straw a coaching job as soon as he gets through rehab.  that will be interesting.

I don't know if I'd want Straw hanging around my young stars.  He'd start taking them to clubs and hotel parking lots...

I'm reviving a topic from 2002.
Since this was more about beer than RBI, have you guys had Blatz? How about Black label? I'm assuming you've at least heard of Milwaukee's Be(a)st right?

Any recent RBI moments guys? I'm going to say the most competitive game I've played in the last month was my (NY over BO) victory last night.

nightwulf

Actually, yes. The only friend I have left who's an RBI afficionado was in town last weekend. We played our usual three game series. I, as always, played the Cardinals; he played Houston. We split the first two games.

Game three. I managed to load the bases with no outs. Up steps Terry Pendleton, who prompty flies out. Next up, Curt Ford. Nuh uh. I sat on the substitute screen for probably a minute, deciding who to bring up. Jose Oquendo was finally my choice. One pitch, one swing, one grand slam. Yes, grand slam for Jose fucking Oquendo.

That ended up winning the game for me. Quite a game.

Nightwulf

Wilfong

Nicely done, I just can't believe you had to think for that long before bringing in The Weapon.

nightwulf

Well, Lindeman has the highest (cough) power on the Cardinals bench, but I hit better off of him with lefties. Morris has higher power than Oquendo ... what can I say. It just felt like Jose's day.

And it was! Dee-nee!

Nightwulf

Gantry

Good call nightwulf, I can safely say that I'd never use Oquendo in a situation like that over Lindeman.  Never...  But that's probably why I never win with the Cards
