Brookensrules!

So yes, playing the computer is lame.  I always beat a friend of mine even when I spot him 3 runs or so.  He doesn't want to play me anymore so he thought of a good betting game we can play.  We played it last weekend.  What do you guy think?  We do rock, paper, scissor to see who plays the computer first.  We then draw for teams, which team we get and which team is the computer.  We beat for whoever gets the most hits, 2B, 3B, HR, inside the park HR, Grandslams, and we pick one player as the star of the team and if that star hits for the cycle that is another category that we keep track of.

not a bad idea.  anything to keep it fresh and interesting.

Here's a version me and a friend have been doing exclusively

Rules
1. strait pitch pitching rules
2. defense cannot throw the ball when fielding, until your players foot touches dirt
3. defense cannot catch a fly ball that would hit the ground before the white line that begins the outfield
3-b. your fielders entire body must be behind the 'outfield line', in order to make the catch
3-c. your fielder is allowed to make a catch while touching the infield only if he 'snags' the ball and his glove is entirely over the 'outfield line'
4. all swings must be 'chipshots'
5. you win the game if you are winning by the number of innings completed, except after the first inning
6. if you make a 'bop' while touching the dirt, you are not allowed to throw the ball until you touch the dirt with full possesion of the ball
7. if the offensive team hits a 'walzie', they must forfeit the rest of the inning by allowing their players to strike out
8. any violation of a rule during play, results in an automatic HR by the next batter
8-b. if the player hits a HR over the fense in this instance it still counts for the defensive penalty
9. any rule you make up is legal during play, for the rest of the game
9-b. the rule cannot take back a play in any way, it is enstated for the rest of the game only
9-c. the rule cannot contridict, in any way, a previous rule made, or any of the original rules
10. there are no extra innings, after the ninth inning a tied game is decided by the tiebraker rules

Tiebraker Rules[/b]
1. whoever drank more beers during competion is the winner
2. the player with the smaller penis is the winner
3. the player with the largest areola (area around the nipple) diameter is the winner
4. whoever owns the NES is the winner
5. coin toss

Need help gambling with buddy.  He indicates he doesn't want to gamble anymore, not sure if he means RBI strictly or cold turkey.  I am not sure yet if it is due to our current format of betting.  I am the better of the two players and when we play head-to-head I spot him a run or two to make it fair.  Any suggestions?  Can be computer playing related as noted above.  I'm up for any new suggestions.   :-\

If he's trying to quit gambling altogether, call him a giant pussy.

Brookensrules!

not sure, I need further clarification from him as to the why.  Maybe he's short on cash currently?  I'm just looking to keep the gambling going.

when short on cash, the only smart thing to do is bet on horses

Ho-Chunk is only 45 minutes away.

anyone ever notice that if you drop a deuce on someones windshield in sub-freezing temperatures, its pretty damn hard to get off once it freezes.

I know where  it is.  That's gambling where you have no control of the outcome, with the exception of cards to some extent.  I prefer where I play a role in the outcome of the results.

Then that's not gambling, that's trying to work your friends over for money.

I made over 4k playing poker over a couple months (about 2-3 nights a week) at Ho Chunk about 4 years ago.  The players there are far softer than Potowatomi.

If you want to bet on something more skill based with someone in Madison I'll have a wing eating contest with you at quaker steak on any tuesday (all you can eat wing night).  Here's a hint:  You'll lose!

It is gambling as I have an opportunity to lose.  Look it up in the dictionary.  When I have the advantage I accept a handicap system for whatever we are betting on.

So you are a good poker player 4 years ago, why did you stop?  My buddy Christian is a dealer there.  I don't like Ho-Chunk really.

Quaker Steak and Lube, never been there.  Stupid name for a wing joint.  I'll pass on betting how many wings I can consume vs. you.  Here's a hint:  food bets are stupid.

Here's what dictionary.com has to say.  Since the only part of the game that involves chance is Bops, I'd say RBI is a game of skill and not of chance, and therefore putting money on the game is more in line with betting or wagering.  And since you've apparently got more skill than your friends the scales are tipped in your favor...  I'm guessing the handicaps don't help to even that too much.

I put that bankroll into a motorcycle and quit.  Ho Chunk isn't great or anything but it does the trick if you have the itch.

It is a stupid name and a stupid theme but their wings are awesome, I highly recommend it.  Their happy hour specials on beers are pretty decent too.

Is this a knock on Cool Hand Luke?  I don't think I can stand for that...

except for when you do an early throw
