This draft would have gone a lot better for me Re-Peat if you were not in the league.

Get off my tail already...

I guess my esp is on target then...

You were right about me liking Gwynn, but you were wrong about Dykstra falling to you, which was the main part of your prediction.

I thought you were going to take him or Coleman, I just wanted to grab a pitcher in case NachoD went with 2 on the bend.

anyone ever notice that if you drop a deuce on someones windshield in sub-freezing temperatures, its pretty damn hard to get off once it freezes.

Darky

Coleman sucks btw...

My instincts were correct...that's why I took Dykstra

Also, I have a theory as to how hitters hit as to where they are in the lineup...it's the unknown variable in watch mode in the rom...

Also, I need to come up with a number for errors...every team will have the same number, but I am wondering at what number I should put it.

I was thinking 3.3, but that's too  low or?

Input people, input...otherwise the Galactic Senate will make the call.

id' say that using the lowest error rating or second lowest rating is the most competitive.  the less errors the better since the computer AI for fielding is so bad.  maybe even no errors.

Error   Rat   %
Ca       10   3.9
Bo         7   2.7
Dt        12   4.7
Mn       10   3.9
Ho         8   3.1
Ny       11   4.3
SL       11   4.3
SF        9   3.5
Am       6   2.3
Na        4   1.6

Unlike most of your theories, I agree with this one.

I haven't come to any conclusions about what spots may/may not do to players, but I have noticed that some players that are normally pimps are often chumps outside of their home slot.

Yeah, you were on fire believing I really wanted Jesse "Watch Game Suck" Orosco

My last two picks were froma bar.  Possibly my first post from a bar.  Probably not tough

TβG

can you help me with a spreadsheet problem?

i'm trying to create a function in (d3:18, e:318) that will add up lefty hitters and exclude the pitchers. and tthen the same type of function to add up the pitchers, but exclude the hitters from that total.  you can see the empty cells where i'd like that to go.

this info is public domain until after the draft or after the season i plan to release a lot more public information that hopefully will help everyone in the future.

i'm not sure how to phrase everything in the equation to include both columns of info.  and i think i experimented with =countif

=SUMIF(D1:D121,"L",H1:H121)  (From you RBI roster sheet)

You don't even have pitchers on your sheet from what I can tell, but if you did:

Add another column that was 1 if Pitcher 0 if hitter
then another column = D2 & N2    'assuming N is the new column

If this last column = L1 then you have the left handed hitters, so you'd have to change the sum if a bit

i want to work evertyhign off that one sheet and not refer to another page, if possible.  the way you're saying to do it is better, but it's not how i have the info set up for now.

you think the way the table is layed out right now that i can't do the sum or count i'm looking for?

i'm talking about the tab labeled "2009"

the sheet you attached has no pitchers on it.  I thought you wanted total power so I used Sumif, if you just want counts then use Countif

this is basically what i'm trying to say:

=COUNTIF(D3:E18, "*-L","RP" or "SP")

to tell me how many lefty pitchers...

and i'd use the same things except IF, OF, C  to tell me about the total of lefty batters.

the trick here seems to be getting the info from two columns and supplying one answer.

TβG

i know this isn't right, but this is another way i'm thinking about how to express it:

=sum(=COUNTIF(D3:E18, "*-L") + (=countif(D3:E18, "of" or "if" or "C"))

both have to be true, we want to know from column D if it contains a left and from column E if it's a fielder.

Suck? Are we looking at the same stat sheets from all the seasons? He was second in ERA last year...and has pretty much been top tier except for one year.

In light of this, Team Smegma is facing and organizational change.

They will now be called the Rebel Alliance, and have changed uniforms as well.

Down with Swedish tyranny!
